Looks a lot better than I imagined, but we'll see how it looks when it's all wrapped up.

I never doubted the quality of this addition (Disney does a fantastic job at rockwork/landscape design), the location is just questionable.

While I don't like the idea of the front half of RoA going away, having water falls and creeks/rivers/springs will be a fine addition.

I’m going to say it…

“So the ride is going to be Rhino Rally without the rhinos?”

Surprisingly, they have two concepts from Paris that could work if they want to stay within the very broad theme of Frontierland - Hotel Cheyenne & Hotel Sante Fe. They could also make it Adventureland and tie it to Pirates or something else.

It can't be Wilderness/National Park themed since Wilderness Lodge is that already, and while rumors of a Moana attraction are swirling for the area behind PotC, they just loosely themed the new Poly DVC tower to the IP.

If they do end up with a resort here... that back of house area will need some set dressing.

I think the hotel theme would be "Generic upscale hotel with direct access to Magic Kingdom", but that's a different discussion.

I'm just glad to see SOME of the river preserved. It really adds to the atmosphere of the park.

I really like it. The waterfront is such a nice and iconic area of the MK.

I was on board with this before the art

But yeah...some will complain online but most people going to this new land will love it

I'm really excited for this land...the cars land at DCA is one of the best lands they have ever made and bet this will be another great land

I was vibing to this when it was announced—but I am now downright adoring this.

Feels like Grizzly River Run, Western River Expedition, Radiator Springs Racers and Rhino River all had a baby and this was the result.

The new concept art -- while more cartoonish -- is much better than the first iteration, and if it's indicative of what is actually going to be present, it looks more promising in terms of preserving some of the important aesthetic elements that are currently in place.

I'm not really seeing how a major E-ticket is fitting in there, though.

Reading the blog post, it's kind of hilarious how they clearly go out of their way to emphasize, "Hey, there's going to be lots of water!"

I'm happy to see water along Frontierland and I can't help but think that was the result of feedback and concern. That's great, fans spoke out, and maybe Disney listened. All good.

I'm really happy to see trees in Frontierland that may be within the walkways, that would help capture the northwest woodsy DCA Grizzly Peak vibe and offer shade.

Also excited to see Tom Sawyer island-like suspension/barrel bridges:

Some remaining concerns are:
  • Are we going to see cars racing along the opposite side of that river from Frontierland, or will the cars be behind rockwork?
  • Is that National Park sign going to be right outside the Haunted Mansion?
  • What is this? Not concerned, but haven't been this curious since The Foam Berm at Epic Universe. :nervous:

According to a few sites, as information trickles in, they are making it an objective to avoid the sound and sight of cars racing through the area from certain points in Liberty Square/etc.

The trees in the pathway between this and Country Bear/DVC Lounge are probably just for looks in the art since the parade has to pass through here.

There seems to be a real emphasis on Disney's part that there will be a wilderness buffer separating the ride from the rest of Frontierland (and, presumably, the Haunted Mansion queue).

In conjunction with the repeated mentions of water, I agree with others who think Disney is clearly reacting to the concerns voiced after D23. Which is good (if it actually materializes in the finished project).

Slight tangent, but where did you find the large/high-res version of this art? I'd like to examine it more thoroughly.

I was wondering/hoping they would move the parade route to originate in Villains Land and come along the Haunted Mansion, etc. That would allow them to hit the shady, woodsy feel in Frontierland.

Also, it seems like a future phase of expansion would be where the parade currently originates, with the backstage services moved out to where the laydown yards are being created.

I'm hoping this is the case, without the need for the canal anymore (obviously a retention pond would need to compensate for it), they have a lot of land to play with for Adventureland, Frontierland and Hotel expansion. Pretty exciting to see how this area develops over time.

Disney has mentioned they will be using a technique similar to that used on Mt. Prometheus at DisneySea to have the mountains look different from different angles...this is going to be fascinating see play out.
