Yeah, if the worst part of the ride was who was playing Spider-Man (which absolutely is not a problem out of all of the things wrong with this ride), then people wouldn't be complaining much about the ride.

Web Slingers works just fine IF we get the e-ticket. Then the land would have two adult level E-Tickets and this family friendly … D? C?

It looks like the ride had an E-level attraction budget that only turned out a C+ or so ride. I look at this as little different than TSM and tbh, TSM still looks like the ride i'd rather choose. Obviously I haven't ridden the ride, but I generally don't love attractions that are overly interactive and I definitely don't like that I have to use my hands/arms as the way to "shoot". I much more rather rides that put you in the middle of the action like IOA's Spider-Man ride does.

Well that is certainly... an attraction. Doesn't seem like it's for me, but perhaps it's better when you're actually riding it. The swinging Spidey is very cool, though!

Wow on this Spider-man ride, just wow, I mean Disney beat the "other" park by a mile. Sure the ride system is an of the shelf thing and it is all screens but man they went above and beyond what their rival did, eat that Universal every Legoland park in the world!
But I'm kidding as the real innovation is in the story. I mean Peter Parker is a journalist inventor but he sucks (super hero's that suck are tight, right). And now we the guests are all Spider-man as he is unable to do it on his own as always as now is the case... So we help the lame looser out and that is something.
But seriously the main event is the game and the main innovation Disney Imagineering have invented is a system that you can play the game but beat it when you buy an extra thing for a very high price. Real gamers hate love that as they all love EA and all those other horrible beloved game companies who implemented "pay to win" mechanics. I also love that a toddler that loves Legoland and his wine mom can play this game. The movement is just like throwing a glass of cheap wine empty into a waiters face, it's magical! This sure is a win and I can't wait to order my 150$ ticket to have a change or not to get on this piece of crap marvelous ride.

After 23 movies averaging $1B each with many more movies and shows on the way, at the very least Kevin Feige (if no one else) deserves better.

I think one of the most baffling choices was putting another 3-D shooter ride in the exact same park as TSM, and then also making it look worse.

Not gonna lie though - seeing the pre-show with Tom Holland did get me excited. I absolutely love the MCU and have dreamed of having these cast members be in an attraction. Sadly...this is all we got.

And regarding the Avengers ride...if they haven’t even broke ground yet, but they started building Tron like 4 years ago which already exists in HK, you gotta think that ride ain’t coming before 2025 at the earliest. But by that point the MCU will be way past the “Peter Parker high school phase” and Guardians will look like a relic.

So this ride was... as I expected. It's just Ninjago but with better graphics. And people ACTUALLY thought that this had a chance against IoA's Spider-Man ride.

I don't think anyone who's been paying attention thought this had a shot at coming close to IOA's Spider-Man (which would've been a tall task no matter what). Looking at the types of Marvel rides Disney has put out there since buying Marvel, no one should've really had any high hopes for this.

It's actually fairly telling that all of the Marvel rides so far are either re-skins/clones (Iron Man Experience, Ant-Man & The Wasp: Nano Battle!, and GotG: MB) or practically the exact same thing that can be found at regional parks (Web Slingers). The first truly original Marvel ride will be Cosmic Rewind. I want to hope Avengers Quinjet won't be a clone themed to Marvel, but I feel like i've heard that it may utilize a Pandora system (which in and of itself is more of a souped up Soarin', which again, is already in DCA).

Honestly when people joke about how Disney trips now rely on your past trips feelings and nostalgic? I feel that as a tourist who’s just not been impressed by anything Disney has really done of late, other than Avatar and Rise (which doesn’t seem like a guaranteed ride), its difficult to find reasons to visit a Disney resort right now other than the t fact of going to a Disney resort, which will always be a sell, but there is really no draw to me other than that.

the folks comparing Star Wars to this area are reaching a bit. You may not be a fan of the new trilogy characters, but the two rides and land are much better conceptualized than this.

this may be one of the weakest new Disney rides in a long while. Even river adventure has its own tranquil quality to it.

It would have to be REALLY fun to shoot those web shooters and fairly immersive 3D and Audio to impress me more than what I’ve seeing from that POV.

no clue if this ride was once a great concept that met budget hell due to a underwhelming Star Wars reaction or was a dud that green lit too fast to get a marvel presence in the park.

either way ….OOF

I’ll bite...how is this significantly worse than what we’ve seen of the Mario Kart ride?

As far as the no villain thing, I think it’s pretty clear this was meant to be a kid’s ride (it replaces an entire area meant for kids) in a park with not a ton for them to do. I do agree Spider-Man has a great villain catalog that seems wasted here, but it also is the most widely-recognizable character by far and ties most directly into an all-ages ride the park (not the land per se) needed. I would imagine the all-out brawl-out apocalypse storyline will be covered in the Avengers ride and one of those is enough.

We’re just not the target audience. So again, besides using 3-D instead of VR (which I truthfully don’t understand too well myself) what is the major difference here?

The thing that bums me out about WEB, is that it could have the potential to feel like a really good Spider-Man story and attraction. Heck, they could've easily of done Vulture and Tinkerer; especially given their DIY/Hacking capabilities from Homecoming, it would've made complete sense if the plot oriented on Tinkerer hacking the WEB robots while Vulture's trying to steal something from the WEB HQ.

Even Ninjago has a narrative progression that has antagonistic forces. WEB is essentially Peter being a dick to that of the robots, thus causing the robots to self-replicate out of spite.
____
I mentioned this on Theme Park Stop, but it does feel like it need mention onto here as-well. WEB, and Guardians feel like we are at a progressive slate of attractions that, once Avengers E-Ticket hopefully comes out, gives fuel to the fire for a more well rounded area.

WEB = Kids dark ride
Guardians = Family Drop tower ride
Avengers = (Hopefully) Thrill Ride

The problem, is that it isn't complete and that they should've had this completed at the start. But instead, Disney is going in the direction of something that feels as if it's by checkpoints, with goals obtained by that of the sales of things within the land. Atleast...that's my thought process.

Was there ever a doubt. Jokingly I said Web slingers is the 3rd best shooter ride at the resort behind Toy Story and Buzz. I don't think I am wrong here.

I like Galaxy's edge and think it hits oni the right notes. I know there is a lot people don't like but Smugglers run and ROTR are great rides. We know Guardians is a great ride so the land had a head start but that is 4 years old and they really need a good E ticket. Hopefully that will come in a few years. After WEB Slingers the land is a big meet and greet which I am not terribly excited about.

EDIT:
Another question I have seen come up is Guardians going to be restricted now so only if you are in Avengers campus can you ride it? This seems like a big issue at least for the next few months. I wouldn't want to wait in a line to get into Avengers Campus just to go ride Guardians. Hopefully they keep it the way it is but I could see them restricting access if the land is full and the Guardians gate is exit only.

I'm honestly shocked at how bad the ride (and the land in general) looks. This is the land for the biggest movie franchise ever? Woof.

Even if it had the E-ticket, it would feel like a lesser SWGE, which was already a disappointing land overall

THANKS for saving me time to say the same thing. I'm no Disney Purist but I had the same reaction to this ride as MK. Could be fun in person but still wildly unimpressed. And let's not get started on Yoshi. The physical sets in MK do nothing for me to counter the absolutely erratic pace in storytelling, much like WEB

- Ride vehicle: One fits the property completely, the other is a box.
- Theming: One is a fantastic mix of AR and incredibly detailed physical, dynamic sets, one is 3D and screens
- Locations: One visits iconic locations from the franchise, the other visits a storage hall, a basement, a warehouse, and a hangar...
- Animatronics: One features animatronics, one doesn't

I can keep going, but other than the "shooter" aspect, I don't even see them as comparable. This is almost a TSMM clone with different shooter technology. There's incredibly little going on here, no iconic characters are really anywhere to be found, the audio is clunky, Spider-Man barely speaks, the scenes are almost the same thing on loop with rough animation, the ride vehicles barely move, etc.

I have no issue with not being the target audience for an attraction. I enjoy many, many attractions that are not designed for me. But this is a joke of an attraction for one of the biggest franchises in the world made by a company that is capable of making some of the greatest attractions in the world. Why use Marvel if it's barely going to be recognizable as Marvel? Why use Marvel if it's just going to essentially be a clone of an attraction that already exists in the park?

The Mario Kart ride does not use VR, it uses AR, and is the first theme park attraction ever to use it in this kind of way. The Mario Kart ride is actually innovative and something different instead of this, which is just a copy of a ride that has been around for 5 years.
