Auto-Emoji Options

Hey IU team!

One of the recent Welcome threads brought attention to a little annoyance I've run into multiple times, but have never actually thought about bringing up.

When you type in " : ) " it automatically changes to . Same with , , , , and I'm sure others. I do like our emote set, but there is a definite vibe swap between all of these and their text-only counterparts (like the IOS "omw" VS "On my way!" thing haha).

I think Auto-Emoji as an option (even the default one) could be nice, but I would definitely prefer to have the option to simply use the text instead! I also remember seeing this feature implented on much older and much more rudimentary forum systems than the nice snazzy build that IU is currently using, so hopefully it's not too crazy of an ask!
