Random question for the fellow Nintendo fans, but is the theme that plays inside the cave part of the Yoshi themed part of the MK queue an original arrangement? I really liked how atmospheric it sounds, but I couldn't recognize it from anything, not even after looking up the cave themes of various Yoshi's Island games (which I haven't played a ton of), since the whole extended queue otherwise is full of new arrangements of songs from Yoshi's Story (Yoshi's Song and The Story Begins) and the original Yoshi's Island (Flower Garden).

If so, that's one track I'm gonna be looking forward to the day we get an official release of the land music.

It's an arrangement of this track from Yoshi's New Island.

Ah, guess I didn't look hard enough. Thanks.
On one hand, I wasn't expecting a track from YNI to get remixed, since I otherwise haven't heard the best things about that game's soundtrack. On the other, that's amazing how they turned something semi upbeat into something really ethereal and atmospheric. Hats off to the composers.

EDIT: Upon further analysis of what's largely present in the YNI OST and the SNW rendition from a video I have from when I first walked through the queue, It sounds like they changed the instruments of the re-used main melody to a xylophone, which makes it mix in with the other notes, which I find amazing, since for a small thing, it almost transforms the song entirely in addition to the additional instruments.

I think this song still remains as the one arrangement I'm looking forward to listening to once we get an official release for how much it got transformed. SNW's version of this song beats out the original by a long-shot and is easily one of the most impressive arrangements from the land's music.

I'm not sure. Sorry to hear it. :(

I think the reservations open up before 7AM, but now that I think of it, I think one time I saw that they were open even before that as I was getting ready one morning, so perhaps they actually start being available earlier than that.

They do sometimes. We've had luck before refreshing the reservation link throughout the day and getting a reservation for later in the afternoon/evening.

Yesterday while waiting in the room of anxiety (Aka the room where you get your visor) at Mario Kart, we saw a couple cut from the single file line and join the regular throngs of people making their way to the stair well. Yet another reason why they need to have TM's in that room. :expressionless:

As in the single rider line? Oof.

I'll admit, it's a bit tempting, but it doesn't sound like it's worth the trouble, especially if you're only a party of two just regularly visiting, in which there's a decent chance you happen to wind up in the same kart anyway. Probably another important thing to mention in surveys, looks like.

I’ll post my full thoughts later, but TLDR, the land is very unorganized, the queues are already looking like they’re years aged, and there is a little more to be desired but that being said I loved Mario Kart and liked the land besides everything.

Also there needs to be Team Members looking after guests. Adults are straight up dumb as hell and oblivious to what they’re doing or how they treat the land.

I don’t like being an east coast bias person, but the SNW land in Hollywood seems just incredibly shoved in. The land design for Japan and Epic Universe don’t seem nearly as unorganized or crammed.

Jeez. I’m so glad I got to experience it day one of the soft openings — it was inevitable because people now suck more than ever, but I’m not even surprised that grown adults can’t act like adults, which is sad. Stickers all over things. People carving into stuff with keys. Adults laughing and encouraging their kids to smear stuff on the walls or chip paint. SNW is gonna be a nightmare to visually upkeep if these few months are any indication.

Everyone knows I love Nintendo but I avoid it most visits.

It's just not fun when you can walk on other great rides and SNW is holding most the crowds. I wish they would have gotten more land and had the Yoshi ride or another ride, and added a second story to toads cafe

But because of it being a studios we always get the second best....Jurassic World is great but once they upgrade JP over in Florida ours is the worst version, simpsons/Potter land is smaller here, mummy etc

Now the more unique attractions take full advantage like SLOP, WW (I know its in Japan but from video's we have the cool stage in my opinion)

But the real issue with this park and why most theme parks don't have to try as hard any more is the general public, I'm not trying to blame thme but its true as long as people are willing to come in and spend 25 bucks to get in early and 50 bucks for a popcorn bucket, I feel like USH feels like it can do these smaller worst versions and still see profits. While Potter here didn't break the bank it did very well and to this day the butterbear lines get insane.

For what it is SNW is a great land but I'm confident 9/10 people on this board could have made suggestions to improve the land and make it better for everyone but as long as USH is raking in the cash, I feel they have little reason to address much sadly.

I mean look at next year....nothing new coming to the parks and we lost two shows and they have noooooo idea how to make temporary entertainment, which is why next year might be my first year without a pass if they really just keep coasting

You can ignore my posts if they bug you sooooo much

I didn't say anything that controversial.

Land could have been designed better and have more to do (not just me but tons of people on here saying that)

The park needs more shows/attractions that soak up the huge crowds

What bugs you about these statements?

A man can only take 12445 posts about popcorn buckets, adding the Yoshi ride, and wild whataboutisms on what USH may do. This is now post 12446 about popcorn buckets and getting the yoshi ride. We're going back to the same point again when nobody asked.

But seriously they better add themed popcorn, more dancing janitors, and the Yoshi ride by next week or I'm done forever with USH.

Alright, JD moment aside, I feel like speaking up here. Maybe it's because I'm more of an optimist more often than not, or I'm reading into the following too much, but while I don't disagree with some of the criticisms (and it's unfortunate to hear that the land's attracted rowdy people making it harder for everyone), is it weird to say there's something that just feels disheartening about the air about them, almost as if it's underselling how we at least managed to get SNW at the end of the day if that makes sense? Though I probably just have the aforementioned east coast bias in mind (which was something I was only just now able to lay my finger on).

As much as I wish Panda and studio Cafe got torn down for the land and will forever be scratching my head on why the MKBC queue doesn't use the whole upper floor of the building for queue space like it does in Japan, I think I just always had in mind that USH has always been heavily land locked due to being on the same premises as the studio itself. Considering we already did get the short end of the stick time and time again, I wanna say I think they did the best with the hand they were given.

Maybe I'm also biased as someone who grew up with the games and has fallen madly in love with the land's music and other touches, but I just can't really bring myself to dismiss the land after how long we've waited, etc. I don't disagree that the land could use additions and maybe even a future expansion down the line, but I'd rather we have the land than no land at all.

Despite the drawbacks it's easily become my favorite part of Universal now and then there's my impending trip with some friends who are excited to see the land, so I'm certain the land is still capable of being a blast for those who love the IP despite everything. Though, that said I see where people who have no such attachment are coming from, since I can't imagine them buying a power up band immediately.

Who knows, maybe the pressure will die down a tad once the F&F coaster opens, because by the time we got SLOP after the additions that came after HP, I think crowds felt more diluted aside from the night shows.

TL;DR, I'm just happy we still have SNW, warts and all, but yeah, I still think the land could be improved. Keep making your voices heard in those surveys.

(Eesh, that got longer than I thought)

I was at the park on Monday (May 15) morning at opening, which was 9 am. The early entry time for Super Nintendo World was 8 am. As I expected, they were letting people through the turnstiles into the park early and holding us in front of Springfield until 9 am.

What I didn't expect was that they were limiting people going down the StarWay to using only the far right escalator (even though two escalators were functioning going down). No one was allowed to go down the stairs, either. I asked why this was, and the Team Member said it was to control capacity of people going to Nintendo World. As a result, there was a big mass of people bunched up at the top of the escalators to squeeze onto the far right escalator.

Also, when we got to the Transformers building and the entrance to Super Nintendo World, only visitors with Express Tickets (and maybe Platinum Passes?) were allowed to go straight to the tunnel. Everyone else was put into the Transformers extended queue where we waited for 5 or 10 minutes before they started letting people in. I was near the front, so I don't know if they let everyone in the queue without further delay, or if they continued to hold the queue after a certain number of people had entered.

I've gotten used to the fact that the Super Nintendo early access ticket will give you the one hour priority access to the land, but I'm also used to the idea that visiting a theme park means that having a general ticket or pass will mean you can enter an area (like Galaxy's Edge or Nintendo World) at the same time as everyone else. Universal is basically treating entry into Nintendo World like a premium experience that having the Express ticket gives you priority access for, even first thing in the morning when the park opens to all park visitors.
