So are they extending that red/brown brick wall theme to the left of the warp pipe entrance? Seems like they weren’t going to do it at first but then decided it looked bad and put scrims up lol. 33FF0D45-C41A-4949-8894-70256B284575.jpeg

In the trailer it looks like that section is getting more of those grassy hills (not the jigsaw ones the actual greenery ones). Wonder why they haven’t gone up yet

Finally got to go during a tech rehearsal today, and I loved it. Yeah the land is small, but it still managed to be very immersive despite it. Pretty much was there from 10 until 2 with all I was doing. Everyone else seems to have taken the words out of my mouth with what they could add and I feel assured knowing that seems to have reached the surveying TMs.

Hell, the whole thing was immersive enough for me to still feel overcome with emotion stepping in for the first time. Nearly teared up several times from hearing all the new takes on music from the games I heard over the years. It really felt like you got transported and it made me almost forget I was at Universal.

As for food, I had the Mario Burger, Garlic Knots and Tiramisu. Mario burger was nice, but the meat felt kind of dry, similar to Krusty Burger's? Not sure if I got dealt a bad hand after seeing someone else's account of it. Garlic Knots and Tiramisu were top notch though.

Anyways, also adding to the say hi crowd, for anyone else going on the 29th, I'll be donning a red orange Nintendo NY jacket and an 8 bit Mario backpack.

Yeah, SNW and Mario Kart have officially unseated Jurassic World as my first opening time stop for USH going forward. The rest of the park felt almost dead with SNW eating up all the traffic. Especially with how the wait time reached 200 minutes by the time it was 2PM.

Didn't register at first (somehow) but as in the cafe? That was my longest stop today, yeah.

Speaking of which, going back to my idea of more possible non-Mario cameos down the line, now that I've been inside the cafe I think I have a better grip on that Kirby cameo idea from before. Considering the different sequences that can play, they can add one where Kirby just flies into the ground from a warp star, looks around, spots the "window" in front of him, and he looks into it. Cue him being in awe from seeing all the food, then he just walks off-screen as if he tries go around to get in.

I know it's a long shot and we'll primarily see Mario, but it's such a simple yet fun and in-character thing that I think just feels plausible should they go that route.

EDIT: Decided to spoiler tag it for this thread. Maybe this could have been better for the review thread but oh well.

I was in a grey jacket (with Mario characters on it like bowser and walugi) with a star fox T-shirt on and standing in the front room of the restaurant collecting all the items at the gift game with my green power band

I wonder if Nintendo just don’t want to do anything that could upset the guests and didn’t allow water effects

I’ve yet to met a person who likes getting sprayed with random water, especially after the pandemic

Hm, maybe I remember seeing someone with clothes like that? I guess we'll see in the future. Especially since I'll be achievement/stamp hunting going forward, which is something I never thought I'd say about a theme park.

Do we know when the TM previews are? Also, is there any chance of a soft-opening to the general public on the same day as the TM preview? Thanks!

Tomorrow through Saturday, and then NBCUniversal previews after that. I’d assume today is the last day of softs at least for a little while

I mean if Universal and Nintendo are smart...not everything needs a land.

Make a Kirby cafe and it will be a HUGE draw. Make it two story and even could add a game or two to play with power bands. Either in Citywalk/the parks. I also think Universal testing out the Escape rooms/HHN location shows they are at least open to making things outside the parks.

I just realized I still had the survey URLs from from the QR codes presented by surveyors during softs in my mobile browser history. Is posting them here allowed or no?
