I have to imagine Universal saw some of the excitement online when it showed up on a spec map.

All that combined, I really could see them pulling the trigger on bringing TLOU to HHN.

Universal doesn’t care about that though. So if it comes it won’t be because of that, it will be because Universal thinks it will bring in the GP.

I don't think it's that they don't care, it's more they will do what will work for the event. If TLOU is an easy license they'll do it, but if it's a long protracted experience to build relationships and win over stakes holders it'll be way more hard. There's a reason why Comcast/Universal/NBC properties are easy to land, they have the contacts already!

TLOU is just such a dreary, depressing property. I prefer “fun” horror, and from their track record I think Uni agrees.

That’s subjective. I don’t know a lot of people would say The Shining, The Exorcist, or Black Phone are “fun”. Great movies with depressing tones. Made for some good mazes.

I’d disagree. In all three of those the good guys win pretty decisively against a largely external antagonist and each film holds out some hope of redemption in the face of evil. None have the pitch black view of a hopeless, doomed world occupied by fundamentally corrupt humans that TLOU shares with much 70s horror.

Honestly, I’m not offering this as a real barrier to TLOU appearing at HHN - I think it’s quite likely to do so. It’s a personal preference and a probably baseless suspicion about a very slight bias in which properties HHN favors.

I was hoping no one would mention that one… it destroys my argument AND destroyed several HHNs!

Alright, is everyone sitting down? Good, 'cause I'm about to make a pretty out there prediction OK? Y'all ready?

*deep inhale* We are gonna get 5 scare zones. I know, I know, calm down. It's probably silly of me to even fathom that. But I stand by it. No more, no less.

So brave.

Honestly though, the space from Transformers to F&F need something (where Killer Klownz zone was)

I was spoiled having a zone there before

I get that they couldn't do their fountain show...which...I wouldn't be too upset about either

I love that location for a scare zone. KKFOS worked so well there. The projections were icing on the cake. If it meant a 6th scare zone could be added there, I wouldn't mind the removal of the lagoon show either.

Some "quiet" space and a bypass in Central Park would be welcomed

They need to just do what they did for 18 when it comes to CP: just add some jack-o-lanterns and such in the trees and bushes and nothing else. Just a scenic area basically.

Sorry, is it Netflix as a whole that's on iffy terms with HHN or just Stranger Things? I'd love to see a Cabinet of Curiosities maze!

What about the path between Shrek & Transformers? Now that a house doesn’t exit there, I don’t see why they couldn’t put a scare zone there. Unless they left room in that building for future houses.

This reminds me,
Speaking of super bowl level musical artists, but that are also fans of HHN, I kept thinking, what artists or singers have visited HHN besides Ariana grande?
Weeknd worked so well because he loved the idea and he's a fan of horror and he was very happy about hhn, ( kinda like how Jordan Peele saw his movie US as a potential ride at a park, so hhn was perfect for him as well)
It would be easier if the musical artist was also a hhn fan, ( there's Billie eilish but that can't happen now) Demi Lovato is a big fan as well,

Someone might say that Ariana and Demi's music and videos would not fit hhn, but I think the Weeknd proved that any music house could be awesome with the right ideas and set up. ( And we literally almost had Billie eilish which could have been great ) everyone keeps bringing up lady Gaga, but there could be an easier chance with an artist that loves hhn or haunted houses, to me Gaga and Ariana are similar.

I did a Google search of celebrities/ musicians that visit hhn, and the list wasn't that long actually.
Everybody is thinking of hard Rock, but I have a strong feeling that uni would want to go pop or softer rock for a house next year, just because it makes for more of a party atmosphere and the queue itself becomes like a night club.

Waiting in line for Weeknd felt like being at a party or night club. The energy and atmosphere was of a party. Pleasant. Playful. People were dancing ( me included) it was a really great queue. The house has scares but it was a long night club.

I would usually agree with you, but Dead Man's Pier was likely my favorite house of all time and the whole thing just felt sad lol. Plus, TLOU has so many characters, creatures and environments ripe for a house. The house could honestly be just as beautiful as DMP was.

If I'm correct, there is a space built into Minions for a house - and I assume the exit will be where it usually was.

I'm fully onboard for another zone but it'd be tough to navigate. I mean, if I were King of HHN - I'd have the F&F house portal between Rosie's and Louie's and put a mini zone out in front of F&F.

(This is assuming they continue to use that location)

Everyone is talking about pop, rock, and metal representing the event, yet I didn’t notice anyone mentioning country music that also have some history with horror. “Ghost Riders In The Sky” is one of the most notable songs in the genre written by Stan Jones, and later covered by Johnny Cash. Something that is worth mentioning.

I personally believe that we could potentially get a shudder property house eventually. It just really depends. We almost got Creepshow, but I'm not sure what happened that caused it to fall through. Hopefully the relationship between the two is alright. I don't think people realise that a lot of things that come to HHN are dependent on the working relationship between the two.

Pier was mournful and even bittersweet. TLOU is nihilistic and hopeless.

I think TLOU may very well show up at HHN. I just won’t be lining up for it very often.
