I really enjoy how the Imhotep animatronic shakes like a puppet being thrown around by a marionette.

8 months of "refurbishment" and it seems like they were better off keeping this as-is. What a shame.

I rode today. I guess things look a little clearer? I hope they get the timing down. It all seemed to flow less well.

Rode this last week before the storm hit. It was definitely in B-mode, it was a projection of Imhotep rather than the animatronic.

The timing was actually perfect on our run through the treasure room, even including the lowering door.

It definitely felt slower but I didn't mind that too much. In other words, I think it's improved a bit but not by any wide stretch.

We can’t be hypocrites and claim we want Universal to invest into their rides and then say they should have left it as is just because of some minor issues with the update. If the ride comes out working a lot better in the end I will say that the job is accomplished.

Are we just expecting a tweet from Uni when this does fully re-open? No fanfare?

Probably a quiet removal from the website and the folding signage out front gone.

To answer that poster from a few pages ago, we’re now in fall and it’s still having issues. Yes this is a debacle now lol

The update was necessary if they wanted to keep the ride. The launch was failing and needed replaced. To do so they had to replace the ride control system. Operationally, it is basically a new ride...with a lot of moving parts and effects. I am not surprised it is taking longer than they had hoped to iron out some of the issues. Hagrid's and RotR are still having issues.

Exactly. Don’t forget the track replacement stuff.

Prior to Covid this was a much more ambitious project (hence the rumors of story changes) but had to be scaled back due to the shut downs.

This is still in "technical rehearsals" as of today. This technical rehearsal is longer than most brand new rides at this point. We're entering NOVEMBER. No amount of "but it got a full brain transplant" can explain close to a full year of refurbishment with zero major physical changes to the ride and it still not operating correctly. This isn't the first ride to receive brand new software. Space Mountain has gone through a "brain transplant" like 2 - 3 times over the course of its life along with most rides built in 70's and 80's that are still operating today. What gives here?

What do you want them to do ?

They can’t put it on a normal operating schedule until all the bugs are fixed and kinks worked out.
