Part of the issue with working with major IPs is that the parameters get stricter and stricter

That's certainly no reason not to use said IP, but it does lead to certain things we expect from an HHN-present experience to not happen

Given they went fully original with the tribute store last year (with the exception of the icons being featured) it seems likely they’ll do that again, especially given all the setup at the end of the current one

Considering the story they've been teasing and depending on what they do with this year's tribute store, it could be the first year where the store and the scare zone are connected. The zone being a Halloween Parade and the store being some sort of candy darkride with a very sinister purpose. (As the newspaper clipping said the ride was bait to lure victims to their doom.)

It also says that ride opens in 1954, so my guess is one of the rooms will have an old abandoned dark ride theme.

Which ironically was the original Scary Tales house theme/concept - "Terrorland"

seeing as how there are no protocols in place at any of the parks during daytime ops, I’d say we need to pump the brakes on this concern.

This is exactly why I didn't buy a Leatherface t-shirt last year. It was just a blown up picture of his face with no HHN branding whatsoever..

I was very disappointed. That exact design has been around for quite sometime - I saw someone wearing the OnlineCeramics version at the park lol (reference pics below):
