I wouldn't expect them to put exposed fins on it with the construction still going on around it.

for reference. . .

Click the picture and open it in it's own tab. I have seen coaster sensors, that's fairly large to be a sensor. Also, double spine can serve two purposes; extra support for less supports and for high stress areas. It's hard to clarify why it is double spined in some areas vs others as the bottom of the top had has no double spine and that is arguably where the top speed for the ride will be obtained.

If it's for sensors, it's just the mount. Typically they'll use more than one sensor so they can tell which direction the train is going and the speed it's moving. It's also placed in a spot where the track is banking so they likely wouldn't put trims there, and if you zoom in you can see that there's nothing more than just two rails on the top of the track. Looks pretty much the same as this on Hagrid:

Maybe it's for both and we'll just find out when things are installed!

And that spot is the exact place they would put a sensor to know the train cleared the top hat which would allow the first launch to be activated for the next train.

I'd be surprised if they trimmed the ride here tbh...I expect the ride to shoot up the top hat crest and then glide down

Also, colour me impressed by how high they are building the rockwork for this thing

If you look at the downward portion of the tophat there is some irregular spacing of the ribs. Looks like 2 to 3 areas where trims could be installed. There must be something because as much as I would love no trims, without any you would be hauling though that inversion and helix.

There's irregular spacing all over the layout, and I specifically heard that there's no trim on the top hat. I don't think there will be one anywhere, but if there is one the only other place that would make sense is the stall.

I'm in the camp that the top speed of the ride will be reached pre-top hat and crest it with just enough speed

IDK I could be misjudging

Yup. Glad he added the water flowing in the front. I was wondering what that might look like. We were talking about it last week and how surprising it is to see the helix on the right just kinda of vanish into the foliage. Could be really pretty when it’s all done.

Is the maintenance building and queue building staying the way they are now? Withthat white color? Any rockwork?

A "cleaner look" is certainly one way to phrase it. I might describe it quite differently!

I do certainly appreciate the mock-up attempt, though, and it's probably fairly accurate.

An amazing and incredible way to expand the land, highlight the Discovery Center, and bring motion and dinosaurs to the land? :D

Those are other ways to describe it, yes!

But still not the ones I'd use!

Kind of interesting to take the before and after photo and merge them together.

I think the rockwork is staying inside the raptor enclosure only... except maybe a little by the bridge entering the area for placemaking. It’s like the rocks in a lion enclosure at the zoo more than theming for us, at least that’s my understanding.

Gotcha, makes sense. So is the exterior of those show buildings going to be themed to anything? Or just white walls with some palm trees in front

I wonder if these were from the Cedar Fair "Dinosaurs Alive" upcharge they did in several parks?
