How about a “dunk the creators” booth for charity?

See, this is the type of stuff that bothers me. Some of the people who developed F&F are the same people that developed both Wizarding Worlds, Hagrid’s, Kong, Simpsons, Volcano Bay, AND the new Jurassic Park coaster and Epic Universe. They didn’t try to make a bad attraction. They played the hand they were dealt.

I get that it’s cool to dunk on the ride, but dragging the people who created it into the line of fire displays a lack of understanding of how theme parks design their rides and the effort involved to create anything.

There were so many ways to correctly do a proper F&F attraction that it is truly impressive that UniCreative didn't use any of them.

Of course the obvious ride system would be a Test Track rip-off. The problems here are the ride system is Disney owned, the ride system is famously finicky, it is a real estate hog, mind bogglingly expensive, and did I mention a rip-off of a ride 12 miles away. NEXT.

Ok, the next most obvious choice would be a launched terrain coaster through a highly themed environment. Only Universal Creative is aware that the 2 projects following F&F are a launched terrain coaster through a highly themed environment followed by a launched extreme coaster through a highly themed environment. NEXT.

Ok, the next option appropriate for the IP would be a car based stunt show exactly like Lights, Motor Cars, Action....NEXT.

How about a cartoon version of F&F turned into a goofy dark ride that is in the same vein as Mr. Toad? Insulting to the franchise and it's fans.

Ok, how about we just do a half assed clone of Kong and lazily slather F&F all over it?

This is a perfect description of their likely conundrum. I would've been happy with an overlay of Rockit.

I do think that runs into another issue--Legacy explains how people were expecting an E-ticket dark ride. To me, people expecting everything to be an E-ticket dark ride actually limits the amount of variety in attractions they can realistically provide.

Agreed on that last front for sure.

I think what I’m hoping for the most is that F&F stays here, and they just re-purpose the building. It’s so large, definitely has room for queue expansion so showroom/ride area can be expanded if necessary.

Take down the MIB plot for a London expansion and a Ford Anglia ride. Keep SF the same and maybe just update the dining options or facades of the area a bit. Would be a better expansion for Diagon Alley than a Knight Bus ride, and we can get a coaster in here hopefully. Once this coaster comes it’ll probably be time for either HRRR or Mummy to go, so a coaster may be needed at this point.

The person ultimately responsible for this attraction is the one who decreed, "Just use the Hollywood footage, and change it only as much as you absolutely need to in order to fit it into San Francisco."

That is the mistake from which the entire project spiraled down. The people tasked with executing that were not the problem; yes, maybe they could have done a bit better under those constraints, but the constraints themselves placed an almost-insurmountable burden on the attraction.

It was fundamentally broken from conception.

One of the proposed replacements of Superstar Limo was a Muppets ride where it was basically being bulldozed and mocked throughout the ride. Supercharged should do something like this but I don't know who they would use. Minions? have Minions throughout the ride reacting to things or doing some slapstick stuff or laughing at how bad the ride is.

Nah, they're not going to do that to one of their "big three" internal properties.

Well it's doing a pretty good job being a joke on its own.

This is the first installation of the new Dynamic Attractions Duel Powered Coaster. It is Sons of Anarchy in Genting SkyWorlds (Formerly FOX Malaysia). It would have been the perfect ride system for F&F. Alas, it was unavailable at the time they were creating F&F:S.

Has anybody ever complained about having too many coasters in a park?

They ARE building a lot of launched coasters to be fair. But yes, launched coasterz > screenz.

Anyways, I think a wild mouse would work very nicely for F&F. Dark Knight Coaster on steroids...

Can we please please please stop doing self-referential theme park attractions? Simpsons was at least sort of amusing (though way too softball), but that well is tapped.

The Dual Power coaster will fill the void of coaster and dark ride IMO

Also, I have no problem with coasters in a park...as long as they're not like Rockit

Watched a POV of Bourne. If the ride combined the practical elements with on screen elements here like Bourne did, this ride would’ve been DRASTICALLY improved. Unfortunately, it’s too little, too late.

So I've been thinking, while this is just an idea of mine: I'd be all for it ifit came true: It would be cool if Supercharged got replaced by a Godzilla darkride. Heck, they can bring back the ride system used for KongFrontation and have it take place in San Francisco (the setting of the Godzilla movies) the San Francisco waterfront wouldn't really have to be changed. Plus, it would actually make alot of sense, since one of the titans (Kong) is already in IOA, it would a pretty good move to bring Godzilla (another titan) to USF. I already have an idea for the climax, so your basically in a tram thats supposed to give you a tour of San Francisco, and Godzilla starts wreaking havoc all over the city.. and in the climactic scene, the gondola (the ride vehicle) goes through a destroyed apartment building, we are surrounded by broken furniture, fire, and then we see Godzillas hand (an animatronic) break the brick wall, the entire building collapses and it causes the ride vehicle to go on a simulated drop where the ride vehicle ends up at Station 19 (a tram station) where the ride ends as we return to safety at a Tram Station with someone saying "Hey, Well.. that was a rough ride, But I'm glad you all made it." So, thats all I have for the Godzilla ride so far.

Way ahead of you.

I am 100% convinced this needs to become a Godzilla ride. The ride belongs in San Fran, one, and two, the ride system could actually be reused with a story similar to the original Kongfrontation.

The Queue becomes an evacuation center out of the city, via bus, with the pre-show becoming the appropriate safety spiel (that keeps getting interrupted with breaking news). Effects are added to make the room "shake" at intervals. We load the bus. The practical alley is now destroyed with one of the kaiju in the distance. We take a detour through a make-shift military base in a warehouse, and get a musion scene with updates and see an escort vehicle on the riser. Now, the biggest effect change occurs, when the practical ceiling of the musion scene collapses, revealing a forced-perspective Godzilla animatronic looming over you. We now speed into the 360 room and witness the battle between Godzilla and a kaiju. The battle ends with a flash of blinding light as Godzilla unleashes his atomic breath and we arrive in the safe zone (a new practical scene where, in the distance, we see Godzilla sink back into the ocean).

If they're SMART, they add a random aspect to it, where each story features Godzilla battling a different kaiju. That kaiju is first seen in the practical city before the musion and there is a uniquely choreographed fight/ride program for each.

In any case, it depends on whether or not Uni wants to go in on a ride with Warner/Toho, split the earnings.

I guess we're all on the same page, A Godzilla ride would make sense. It fits within the San Francisco theming, but also brings something new to the table.

I just don't understand how they can't figure out how to not show the top of a projection screen in the 2010's

Like there isn't even an attempt to completely immerse people

Projection screen on roof is one of life's great mysteries. Even Disney in 2020 couldn't achieve it with Runaway Railway. Somebody needs to go talk to the people who made Pirates of the Caribbean because that, my friends, is a real sky.

I think that's different because those are darkly lit areas, but then again so is Pirates, so I probably don't have a leg to stand on here.
