The CV crisis should be ancient history by the time this park opens. No need for distancing standards.

Honestly what's a year delay when you're already waiting 3, just sayin.

I don't think they would be changing/replacing anything at this point. I'd put my money on this being a supply chain problem since factories are shut down all around the world.

I agree but, with our new world, what were you doing last April compared to this one? This has given me a new perspective on time and how to make the most of it. So a lot can change but I don't think it will

There's no guarantee of a vaccine, there's always risk of another future pandemic, and there's likely to be a long-term sustained emphasis on health safety standards. I wouldn't redesign the whole park for 6 ft spacing, but I can see how some smaller elements might want to be reevaluated.

I'd guess it has more to do with cash flow problems.

From OS

Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said Epic Universe’s delay gives contractors, vendors and Universal creative partners more flexibility to work together “within a changing environment.”

“This is about timing only. Our confidence in our business, our communities and our industry is as strong as ever. We will share more specifics as we move forward,” Schroder said in an emailed statement.

I would argue they are probably working on redoing internal plans to make a more hygienic park setup such as queues etc...just so they aren't impacted if things don't work out as expected with other things.

I’m fairly confident that the virus will be taken care of within a few years, hopefully much sooner.

But people will take a lot longer to readjust back to normal and it doesn’t help to plan for the future in case something like this happens again.

Parks like this are expected to remain open for decades. Disneyland is 65 years old and I suspect it will be open for another 65 years.

I don't think parks will be rethought after this all passes.

I don't either, minor modifications will be made such as slightly more stringent cleaning procedures but I forsee the long term impacts of COVID being similar to those of SARS, MEARS, and H1N1.

I'll be happy if they leave up the hand sanitizer stations being installed. But I don't expect much else to change in the long-term, no.

Mike: It's part of a long term plot to never ever open Nintendo in Orlando. ;) New conspiracy theory.

If it’s delayed it’ll be 9 years since the initial announcement.

Sheesh, I’ll be turning 31.

I mean, we had to wait six years for Avatar. Californians had to wait 12 years for a Test Track system ride to come to DCA, 16 years for a trackless ride. Heck, there should have been Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast rides in the 90s.

Theme park fans sure have to do a lot of waiting.

Point is for me none of those are as hype as Nintendo. I guess I really do have to make it out to Hollywood for this now. I can’t take the waiting.

By the time they open, you might not even like video games anymore....Looking like the 'KidZone Kurse" hitchhiked on to Nintendo and just won't let go...even in another park. ;)

I think for your sanity and ours, that would be for the best.
