I personally did not enjoy Annabelle Comes Home at all. Way too reliant on jump scares for my taste. I thought Us was fantastic, but I am still iffy on it as house material.

I finally saw both US and Annabelle Comes Home this weekend. First of all, woah Annabelle was surprisingly good. The scenic was beautiful and the scares were there. Although it’s me dreaming it would make an incredible house.

US, hmm not sure how I feel about it being a house this or any other year. Don’t get me wrong the acting was great, but I think the movie was way overrated. I just don’t see how it could work as a haunt.

You could enter through the family house and go through the living room, have a scare by abraham with his baseball bat. Enter into a closet, and have a unmasked pluto as a scare. Enter into another facade to the tylers house, with tex as a scare. Enter into the foyer, with lo and nix as scares. The bedroom would have Dahlia cutting her face open. Have a small outdoor area with a car scare. You can also have a small town section with a pluto dummy, and red popping out from between a dumpster. You can then have a mirror maze transition into the lab, with that hallway with all of those rabbits. You can have a small room with Adelaides and reds fight, but that`ll might be to difficult to translate into a maze. Then you can end it with all of those clones holding hands, of course some will jump out to scare.

I don’t disagree with you from a quality stand point. US was a better movie, but I believe Annabelle would make a better house.

Honestly I think Us works because it has a similar 3 act structure as House of 1000 Corpses.

For Corpses it’s: Murder Ride, Firefly House, Dr. Satan’s Lair

For Us it’s: Adelaide’s House, Woods/Elisabeth’s Moss’ House, Boardwalk + Tunnels

Both have the transitions in between but I’d agree that Us could get repetitive on the scares. I’d really hope they’ll have the normal and Tethered versions of the people from the film so it doesn’t get as one note as it could be

I think my issue is still the whole Doppelganger thing. I understand the movie wasn't completely that, obviously, but it was a part of it nonetheless. Still feels like it would miss what made the movie eerie in the first place, 'cause other than that, I wouldn't say I found Us scary. Great movie, not scary to me. But the doppleganger thing was eerie to me. So you can give me your scene by scene blueprint, but it will always miss what made the movie special to me.

I get what you mean and I agree too. At the same time though I was that way towards Truth or Dare and Unfriended in Hollywood but they ended up being pretty scary in person. At the end of the day it’ll still have a great soundtrack, sets, and will likely play out like a slasher maze.

As long as they can pull off the execution elsewhere (sets, music, etc.) it should be great. If it comes to be, I will absolutely go through it at least once. Ever since Poltergeist last year, I am willing to believe they could make almost any movie work as a house if they are given enough freedom. At worst it could be pretty though I still worry about them fast tracking it and rushing it too much.

Agree. Annabelle Comes Home was very solid. Only complaint was some of the dark/foggy scenes were hard to see (kind of like the complaints I saw of the big battle in GoT). But we were sitting in the very top row, so our angle might have played a part in that. Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised.

Hated US. Thought it was maybe the dumbest story ever. Acting was fine - didn't have an issue with it. So I pretty much agree with you on this as well.

Honestly, as bad as some of the Conjuring movies were (La Llorona made no sense lol), I think they'd all be neat as mazes. Annabelle Comes Home especially - the Ferryman would be so cool to see in a live maze, I don't think I've seen a ghost like it.

When do you guys think that Texas’s chainsaw Massacre will return to the event? that is my dream house and I started going to HHN last year so I haven’t gotten to go through one.

TCM 2 is just so underrated. Perfect for a house as well.

I knew several people last year who would have loved to see the Stranger Things house but absolutely hate haunt events. There's definitely some potential to attract guests who aren't annual passholders and would still have to buy a daytime ticket to get into the parks during the day to see the house. And given the line on Stranger Things Day last year, I'm sure they at least saw some kind of meaningful impact if they're considering doing something like that again on a regular basis.

I would go during the day just to watch all the families who brought kids in, but really shouldn’t have, but didn’t know how intense houses can be.

The carnage would be epic.

I cant speak for everyone regarding the Us house, but how i see it is the main antagonists of the film just aren't scary to me personally. They're basically just regular people in a red jump suit, what makes them scary in the context of the movie is that they're basically evil versions of our protagonists who are out to get them. Remove that context in a maze and, yeah they're just random people in a red jumpsuit with a pair of scissors. I think most people can see it being turned to a maze, the environments are there, but i'm not head over heels for it to be coming to HHN. It definitely has potential, but i think a lot of people would rather see another property in its place.

Michael Myers is just a guy wearing a white captian Kirk mask.

Yes, but not only is he a horror icon, he could be anywhere at any time attacking anyone for the hell of it.
In Us the scary thing is that everyone's respected clone is out to get specifically them. The clones dont have any other purpose than to kill their clone, if this translates to the maze it'll basically be us watching the film as it plays out irl and not really being a part of the film. In a Halloween maze Michael Meyers could be out to get you cause hes an psychopathic serial killer, but Lupita Nyongo's clone has no reason to be attacking me.

Really...

Whether it becomes a reality or not, the fact is the movie is just 3 months old. People are coming on here to see speculation, and have no warning that there are spoilers from a recent film incoming.

That's why the Spoiler tag exists. Be mindful of your fellow readers.

Same. Great film. Very different from the first. Kind of how Aliens is very different from Alien, but both are really good. Miss Dennis Hopper!

The Tethers did attack a couple people who interfered with their work, but typically it was while they were in pursuit of their target.

Honestly I think it’ll feel a bit like H4 in the sense that we’re caught in the middle of the villain pursuing their prey(Tethered vs Normal, Myers vs Jamie)
