Ghostbusters I also think deserves a return of a new attraction too but I am not sure of Uni is even thinking about recreating their old attractions again. I am just not sitting well either with Reign Of Long. Someway I feel like its the not the end of us seeing the King at a fourth gate since he will be taking in Godzilla in a monster movie. Yes Kong is still alive.

That's the only rationale that makes sense to me. I mean on the Tolkien Estate side, they have a huge incentive to get a deal done ASAP and of the available companies, Universal was probably the most willing and most able to pay the highest price (as well as creating the highest revenue attractions).

But it actually makes sense that Universal may have changed course after the DreamWorks buyout and Nintendo rights agreement if they thought they already had substitutes like Zelda and HTTYD.

I can't think of another reason; it's not like Six Flags or SeaWorld would be able to outbid Universal...

And the Nintendo thing I am still trying to get confirmed is I have heard all Nintendo has been moved to Site B. But as I said. Unconfirmed and not what others are saying. But "Fantastic Worlds" makes me think it may be true.

It’s going to be interesting to see what they put in the concept art, if they choose to do it like what they did with Beijing.

I’d put Zelda in there as well, but I’d take the Sci-Fi area out. Without Godzilla and Star Trek, there’s no great IP’s to put there.

But what if the hub was Sci-Fi themed? Just food for thought.

Would put huge money down that Kong isn’t getting another attraction anywhere.

It could be a combination of all the above. Universal is suddenly flush with fantasy IPs after the DreamWorks purchase and the Nintendo agreement, and the asking price was just too high when negotiating with WB and the Tolkien estate

Universal should save LOTR to headline a 4th theme park when the time comes, if it ever does happen. No need to pay extra $ for a licensing fee when you already have Nintendo + all the other smaller IPs. Nintendo itself is enough to bring in crowds.

Calling it now, Pitch Perfect land. Gotta be one of the 4 worlds, right? Huge franchise. Long longevity.

I know I am just disappointed of the use of screens in Reign of Kong An d the timing of opening that attraction themed to the 2005 version instead it couldve been themed to Kong:Skull Island even though it is not a universal film. Kongfrontation btw was also not a Uni film either.

I don't think the Tolkien Estate will wait though unless they get some guarantees; reality is that they'll take a lower price from somebody else (i.e. assume Universal was promising $8 million a year + 10% of merch/licensing, they might take an offer from Six Flags of $5 million a year + 15% of merch/licensing) just to get the revenue stream going because of the possibility of them losing copyright protections.

If they don’t have LotR that’s even more reason for them to eventually build Hyrule.

Not saying for Universal to sign right now and then hold it. Make the deal when it is necessary. If Nintendo/3rd Park is not doing as great, then Uni should go ahead and attack Tolkien for a deal.

I mean after seeing some of those rides I would love this. An upgraded Scooby ride would be great.

Yea, you give some of those concepts a Universal-sized budget and you’ve got something even more special on your hands

'Long longevity' fits Universal's Epic Universe for repetition...

I can understand if their done with King Kong And it is very likely we will not see him again. But with Kong: Skull Island just released last year now we have a new kong just saying Universal can't do anything with this Kong since he isn't Universal property it is WB but to pass on this new world of Kong with the new creatures like the skull crawlers, giant moose with horns,a giant squid, a giant spider, would be hard to pass on. But I am asking you all raise your hand if you want to see Godzilla battle Kong in a all new attraction in a 4th gate? The 4th gate should get godzilla at least. Any way the new Planet of the Apes series makes it over to a 4th gate? A horror area with classic has not even been mentioned as a choice including wolf man, frankenstein, dracula for a 4th park I guess this means it is not happening. People are saying it is only goingg to be 4 lands. But the amount of land Uni bought why not make this a 5th world?
