Way wayyyy too big.

I think I have a hold on at least 3 of them now, still completely uncertain of land 4. But at least one of them is a “single IP”, I know that.

Ahh good. Godzilla takes up a huge portion due to his size. ( OK I’m done with Godzilla)

Just remember, whatever your wishlist or hopes are, it will be worse than that. Most of what people want is simply unrealistic and won’t happen.

When we find out what it is and the announcements happen and legit insider information gets released, we’ll lose our minds on how awesome it sounds. Things will be exaggerated, budgets will be cut, ideas and blue sky will be floated as fact, and it won’t be as good as what you initially hear either.

Then, we’ll actually get our park.
And it’ll be awesome all the same.

The more I hear about this, the more it seems to become that this gate is, "We're running out of room for all these amazing things we could have!"

Take that as you will...

I’m just waiting to finally get Nintendo. The rest of it will be like “ok, 10 straight re-rides of everything in Nintendo... oh cool other stuff...” *goes back in line for Mario Kart*

I mean honestly at this point Nintendo should be here at the same time as we originally thought. People were saying 2021/2022 and this park people are saying should be 2022. So we got that going for us.

I still think Universal can get this park open by late 2021 if they wanted.

Nah, I’m thinking more like 2023. 2021 was the last timeline we had for it in KidZone.

This can easily be done by 2022.

Remember when the rumor was Nintendo would be getting its own full park..so what if technically it did, due to the fact the land size of each area is essentially a mini park, each areas 30-50 acre lands dedicated to a certain IP group...Super Nintendo World, Dreamworks World, etc... that fit a hub and spoke style park.

That’s really interesting to think about, but if they went that route, they definitely wouldn’t go 50 acres. 20-40 sounds good enough.

——————————-

Also, note how TPU didn’t deny that there would be a Classic Monsters presence in the new gate. I might be reading too far into this, but hopefully that’s a good sign.

So, the whole "land" debate got me thinking about what we know and don't know. We know a trademark has been filed for Epic Universe and Fantastic Worlds. We know they have enough land to build 2-3 more parks, another version of citywalk and more hotels. Basically, Universal Orlando 2.0.

Here is what i'm thinking:

The complex as a whole will be called Universal's Epic Universe. The first park will be called Universal's Fantastic World's. The Universe is comprised of many different Worlds so the name fits with the whole "Universe" theme. Citywalk 2.0 might get a name like Galaxywalk to separate it from Citywalk while still fitting into the Universe theme. Each resort can then be themed to a World. We could see a HP resort, Nintendo resort, etc. These are worlds you can literally spend the night in.

The first park won't have "lands" in the traditional sense. They will be Worlds (which ties into the name of the park). Think of it like Islands but on a much larger scale.

1) Entrance. This one is hard. I could see them going "real world" style and theme it like some city street Main Street style.
2) Super Nintendo World. This would feature a "land" for Mario, a "land" for DK, and expansion space for a "land" for Zelda.
3) World of Classic Monsters. This would be different "lands" highly themed to different classic monsters each with their own ride/show, shop and restaurants.
4) World of Fantastic Beasts. This would be the new HP area. Since Fantastic Beasts takes place all over the world, each "land" could be themed to a different movie. By the time the resort opens, three of the five movies will be out so they can set aside expansion space to add stuff from the final two.
5) World of Dreamworks. Inside this world will be different, large lands themed to Shrek, Panda, HYTTD and Trolls.

I don't think much space will be given to a lake, if any. Islands has SO MUCH wasted space with the giant lake in the middle. I can see the entrance getting about 10 acres with each of the Worlds getting about 25 acres each. All 25 acres won't be built right away with some strategically set aside for expansions. A new Dreamworks World, more Fantasic Beasts and Zelda.

Heck, if they really planned it out well (which i'm sure they are doing) the best thing for them to do would be to set aside even more space next to each World so they could connect each World's resort to the park. They wouldn't need a water taxi (or bus) system from each hotel if ALL the hotels connect to the park. This would be a great perk to promote staying literally feet away from the park in a hotel totally themed to whatever World you want to stay in. Fantastic Beasts and Nintendo would be your deluxe, Dreamworks would be a moderate and Classic Monsters would be your value. The new Entrance would connect to "Citywalk" which would connect to a parking garage and a bus area for guests coming from the current resorts.

I don't think this will be a whole separate resort area. Universal wants to be WDW, not to confuse tourists with more Escape bullcrap. I really think that "Epic Universe" is a marketing gimmick/tagline, that or UOR's subtitle or byline as a whole. The resort, or "Epic Universe" will be made up of three separate areas: the original one, the Endless Summer resorts and Fantastic Worlds area. All three, hopefully connected by some sort of transportation, will become essentially Uni's own WDW. A weeklong destination. Of course, in order for this to work, there needs to be a reason to visit Endless Summer if you're not staying there, so I'm curious to see if Uni has any plans to add some sort of attraction of any kind over there.

I strongly don't believe any Potter related IPs will be in the new park...its getting close to hitting peak saturation and anything more may actually turn people off. Its a lesson Disney had to learn once it realized they were relying too heavily on princesses which ostracized other demographics in which they lacked (Hints Marvel and Star Wars)

I feel like the current complex and the new complex will get their own name if only to make transportation easier. Each complex will be under the UOR name. Maybe it's the two names we already have. From Endless Summer you can board a bus to Fantastic Worlds or Epic Universe. Then, connect both complexes with some type of monorail system that drops you off at either complexes Citywalk. I can't see the new land mass going Disney style where nothing is connected. I picture it being a near copy of what we have now with the exception that whatever they call Citywalk will connect to three different parks to avoid the whole Volcano Bay being stuck in the corner problem we have now. I LOVE that I can just walk out of Universal and in minutes i'm at Islands. If I have to wait at a bus stop outside of the new park to board a bus to a 4th gate they open 10+ years from now, I am not going to be a fan.

Endless Summer doesn't need anything added and if they do go the monorail path, it doesn't need to stop their. It's going to be, and will probably always be, the cheapest resort under the UOR banner. It doesn't need a reason for non-hotel guests to stop their much like Pop Century or the All-Stars are not a "must visit" stop at Disney. Keep the day guests at either complex and away from the single resort. A monorail stop their would just confuse people even more.
