Knockturn Alley is the best indoor "outside" attraction in Orlando.

Love it down there, does anyone else feel like they air condition that outside area? It's always so cool down there and really adds to the atmosphere

Leaving the doors to The Leaky Cauldron open, and the open entrance to a air conditioned Knockturn Alley, allows that cool air to flow out into Diagon Alley. That area of Diagon, adjacent to Cauldron & Knockturn, is always somewhat cool & refreshing.

Always another reason to make another visit from across the pond. What I love about Florida is that it's always evolving. No matter how many times I make the 4000 mile journey there is always something new for me to experience for the first time on every single visit.

I'd say there's an outside chance of fall 2022. Any time before that is just so far out of the realm of possibility

2021 seems impossible. The back of house work they already have permits up for is barely started. All that's been done elsewhere is some road work and some preliminary land clearing. When we consider that the park will also more than likely open with 3-ish resorts and a CityWalk, ignoring the possibility of a water park as well, that's just too much work to finish in 3 years.

That raises a good point, will Universal use a system like that for a theme park.

It's not impossible. I don't think they will open with the theme park, 3 resorts and a water park in one go. It's an operations nightmare. I think it will open with 1 resort, most likely built into the park and a CityWalk. I think the other resorts and water park will be phase 2. IOA took 30months from groundbreaking to opening day and the back of house stuff will be thrown up at a lightning pace, there's nothing fancy to it, it's a basic warehouse.

Like I said, my money is on 2022.

I think groundbreaking will happen this year and we should expect an announcement along with it.

There's 0 chance this thing opens with only one functional hotel.

But it's not one functioning hotel, it's one on site hotel and 7 more at the current resort.

The others are irrelevant. They're going to want as much possible inventory open immediately right next door. They're going to want at least 3 resorts open with the park, to ensure a solid, on-site customer base.

I'm not convinced the WDW 50th anniversary will have a lot of substance, but after the IoA debacle, no chance UOR risks going head to head with it. Only so much public relations oxygen in the room.

Guardians and TRON are opening that year, seemingly. Nothing to sneeze at, but I agree that the 50th won't be a huge event for non-fans. Still, better for Uni just to open something like a KidZone redo against it rather than risking a whole new resort.
