No worries.

To get onto Nintendo, what makes me curious about the possibility of Zelda, is that it strangely has a few ways it can go around.

One instance could use Windwaker as the basis, and having a stunt show replace Sinbad with then the story of Windwaker getting TDS Sinbad'ed into a classic water dark ride. I think that alone could be interesting, and lead to a family area that would offer a high quality indoor dark ride, a indoor show, new shopping and dining, and perhaps elements of interactivity.

Then, another could be the openness of Breath of The Wild. Perhaps one of the aspects could be that it's set in a small village within the kingdom of Hyrule, to then when guests board special carriages using divine tech (like the motorcycle in Champion's Ballad), and then having the core attraction being a family dark ride with small elements of thrills, and then having a interactive walk through experience telling the story of Princess Zelda and the fall of Hyrule.

That said, there are still plenty of other ways that they can tackle that IP, regardless of it's popularity.

I honestly doubt that they would go for the first one, as IOA already has three water rides. The second option, however, is very likely given BOTW's success.

If it were up to me, I would build a land using styles from BOTW, Majora's Mask, and Windwaker (including Castle Hyrule and Death Mountain). The main attraction of the land would be a HP:FJ-style dark ride taking you through popular areas from the Zelda games. Maybe you could even make it interactive by having a MiB style gun system, but instead of guns, it's crossbows. I would then build the puzzle-theater from the original concept art, a maze that skirts around the major attraction buildings, and have the land be littered with custom animatronics.

If JW turns out to be a land-based ride, then we will lose out our only major water ride in the USH park, so there needs to be something major modifications from it. That said, the Lower Lot feels completely unfinished since it's a smallest out of the two lots and no matter what, even if it's permanent or not, it still feels like it's completely unfinished and needs more expanding. I'm not surprised if SNW is going to coming second because it's what USH desperately needs.

I think this needs to be said, Jurassic Park River Adventure (as I call it for USH as-well as for UOR and USJ) will still be a water based attraction with the core layout still in place once the renovation is complete. After-all, they didn't retrack the Hollywood attraction a few years back, just to tear it down for a ground based attraction.

Honestly, the way I see a BoTW inspired dark ride working, is not as a best of but with an actual narrative (almost like Gringotts).

You would have to set up some kind of story in the queue. People get the story on Gringotts because it was based on a popular scene from a movie. Zelda might be harder to explain.

Here's the thing though, that can work that they can set up the story in the queue (or, a pre-show) as it'd be the way for the general public to understand what is going on without them having to be playing the original material.

It can be done, and done simply as it can be, while also not dumbing it down to just cater to the masses.

I’m no theme park designer or planner but to me it seems unwise to have your big centerpiece land of a whole new park open somewhere else in the same country earlier.

If Hollywood starts this year it could be ready by 2021 and I don’t see this new park opening until 2023. “Come see our new park where the best land is one that’s been open in Hollywood for 2 years already!!!” If this is the case there better be major changes and additions to make it a true centerpiece over the Hollywood version.

This^ I mean look how badly WWoHP in USH bombed because it had been open in Orlando for years.....

Oh wait. That's the opposite of what happened. People don't care about something across the country. The amount of people who will go to both parks in their lifetime in miniscule.

Were the lines as long as the first opening in IoA?

Exactly.

Total failure then. Cause the longest lines in theme park history is the only metric that determines a successful land.

I’m not saying it’s not successful. I’m saying most people go to the one that opens first. If Universal wants this as a big centerpiece for attracting people to the new Orlando park opening first in Hollywood would be a mistake.

Unless, of course, they differ in what they offer. :creep:

I think your want for SNW to happen sooner is impacting your line of thinking.

Who say's that Brian has to spill anything?

To say this as blunt as possible, we don't have to always look at Nintendo. There are plenty of other projects from Universal Creative over the next few years that should be highly fascinating and intriguing. Patience, is a good thing to have, especially for wanting to know more. I am sorry, but if you are only looking for Nintendo, then perhaps you should wait until we get more news officially, and it isn't like Orlando is the only version of Super Nintendo World to discuss about *looks at Osaka*

I don’t really want to follow Osaka. I want to be able to experience it for the first time myself in Florida where I actually live. This is part of the reason why I hate this wait. I’ll have to sit by and try not to spoil myself while it opens everywhere else.

Pokemon is more popular than Zelda, but I’d argue that LC needs to be replaced MUCH more.

really? apart from Sinbad, Poseidon's is still pretty technically impressive when working. A bit cheesy, but impressive. And the facade is amazing. It's also the only island not based on an IP which I have respect for.

Kidszone is full of outdated kid movies/shows, and curious george.

We already know that they'll be different somehow. And you got to take in to consideration the fact the UOR has the bigger attendance of the two, by a wide margin. SNW being in Hollywood first would not be a problem.

Personally I love LC. I would rather LC than KZ. However, KZ is necessary for the park to have, as it is pretty much the only kiddie area in USF. While I do enjoy Poseidon’s fury, it has no pull factor, and doesn’t hit an untapped demographic. Yes, Sinbad is the only live action sit down show in the park, but it also has no pull factor, and I don’t think it will really be missed.

My point is: I love LC and dislike KZ, but I still think it makes more sense for universal to close LC first.

I agree with your assessment. Basically Super Mario World in Florida won't be the "ground breaking" land if it's already been available in some form in Japan and Hollywood. Furthermore it would be further weakened by other Nintendo Properties (Zelda/Pokémon) opening before hand in Orlando.

At this point "Mario World" becomes the "Jurassic Park" of Islands of Adventure instead of Marvel Island in the new park. It's not longer the "major centerpiece" of the promotional materials. As it's no longer "new".

All that being said, there really isn't anything UOR can do to prevent this, if they make the formal decision to wait for park 3. Hopefully park 3, will have plenty of "new" IPs and attractions that will still bring massive crowds. Lord of the Rings is a BIGGIE.
