This land has all the qualities of a Nintendo game, it's being delayed many times but it will be worth the wait (according to the fans).

Has there been any news on Pokemon? The early speculation was it would be an MIB replacement right?

If Mario and co. go to the 3rd dry park, wouldn't it make more sense to redo KZ as a Pokemon Safari/League/Gym/Mart/etc. of sorts?

Or if the original plans end up coming true, maybe moving Pokemon to the 3rd dry park makes more sense.

With Zelda seeming like a lock for IoA (as much of a lock as these things can be when all plans are up in the air...), then it feels like Pokemon's placement will be moved to a different park from Mario and co.

I still see Pokemon and Mario in the same park, but

Ok, so why exactly has the “work stopped completely” thing gone around when Japan hasn’t stopped at all?

Because what I assumed was new video a few weeks back showed absolutely no progress (in Japan)... just dirt. Todays video shows things are quite different. I would love to know why there was such a discrepency.

It did halt for about 6 months as things were being re-evaluated. At no point did I state the project was cancelled.

What is bad info (and bad speculation) is that the new structure people are looking at is actually a support structure being wedged behind Hogwarts. That is not a show building. The land itself does not extend into that wedge of land.

Site prep has however finally restarted, but it's deceptively not that far along on the actual site. They are still removing the final portions of parking lot asphalt from where the land proper is being built. You can see the new structure people are looking at in the far back corner. The two show buildings for Yoshi and Mario Kart will eventually fall into the foreground.

What's truly exciting is that whatever the hold up was seems to be over and it has resumed!

Honestly, I'm just going to air this out right now.

Things like this are really hurtful and the reason I hardly participate in this website. I went back through my posting history and I compared Avatar and Nintendo literally in a single post in the last year. 10 people bickered about it for a while and I followed up the whole conversation with one more single post...

It actually wasn't meant as a critique. Just context that we've been talking about and anticipating this project in an official capacity for a very long time.

If the Pandora timeline is anything to judge by (a project announced prematurely due to an outside relationship), we know we are getting awfully close.

Even said I hardly post, that really started with the Guardians in Epcot business, which is completely reminiscent of this discussion. It's not in my nature to gloat or be condescending when people are mistaken, so I just dropped off for quite some time and found I rarely would even catch up on this website.

Why is the culture here to always be so sarcastic and dismissive of other people, especially people who post less often? It shouldn't even matter if I was right or wrong, I was trying to contribute what I knew. What's even worse is I'm feeling this ostracized, what about people who actually make big mistakes or assumptions accidentally?

Everyone needs to be a little more supportive, we are all equally excited for these projects.

I do think you are a super considerate poster @Mad Dog and apologize for grouping you in with another poster. That's probably why I'm more upset that it wasn't just another snarky comment from the peanut gallery.

Sorry, back to happier discussions!

Few things. WHat is Zelda? (Theming?) And Where could/would i fit into IOA?

I'm gonna argue Nintendo will outsell HP. Park exclusive amiboos, collectibles, dlc, and plushes are going to push this to a level that Potter currently can't touch.

But I agree in this case they should go as big as possible.

Honestly if they want merch sales they need to quickly build a Pokémon area. Interactive pokeballs with interactive catch areas would blow anything else out of the water.

Yeah I don't doubt the power of Nintendo's IPs; they definitely have the collective potential to match or outsell Harry Potter if done properly.

I'm just glad that Universal's leadership has realized that before putting shovels into the ground in Orlando.

Getting it done on the proper scale is way more important than getting it done quickly in terms of operational outcomes.

I'm quoting all of these post in agreement that Nintendo will out do potter. Especially Pokemon. Universal should jump on it asap.

Zelda gameplay tends to lead itself mainly on Celtic/English Medieval styling with some areas dabbling in Mediterranean architecture. Most likely to replace Lost Continent.

As to what is Zelda...here is the game trailers since the game came out

No problem. I didn't use your name in my post, even though I was referring to your posting, since I didn't want to point anyone out, or be dismissive of it. I actually personally thought your Avatar comparison was a point well taken. I was just trying to clear up how the discussion had seemed to start. Your postings are generally pretty informative, & well spoken, the times you've visited the site.:):cheers:

The theme sounds fun, but that was my next question.

Easy. Think Forbidden Journey. Hectic travel to different areas, encountering enemies and bosses, lots of physical sets, etc.

Or if they want to go specific to one game, a Windwaker inspired attention with technology loosely based from Sunken Treasure would be a fascinating choice.

something tells me this 3rd park isn't going to work just yet and it'll be back to kidszone in the end.

If they’re specific to one game it’ll be either Breath of the Wild or Ocarina of Time. As good as Wind Waker is it’s not on that level sales wise or in reception.

What if they delayed the land so that they could add Luigi's Mansion in ET's place? Would you guys still be okay with that?

Remember not everything has to be a ride because people on here like to complain about rides with height limits. I can see the Kokiri Forest training camp and maze, a interactive dungeon crawl, a majora mask based shows (the abilities of the masks), and then for rides you have the boats, horses, and dragons which all can be ride vehicles exploring the land and the world of Hyrule.

Hopefully they Jampack the two existing parks before a third park.
