Do you know if the AP lounge will stay open during construction or if they will move it elsewhere?

I do not know for sure, but from what the staff has told me, if they do need to block off the area during parts of construction, they will most likely offer a temporary AP lounge elsewhere in the park. But staff aren't always in the know, so take it as a maybe.

They could do it in the room where they do the Santa's Fireside Feast behind the Fajita restaurant. That way they still have a kitchen to serve AP lounge food. But again, I have no inside info on that yet.

I imagine the restaurant will be fully rethemed as well and tie in with everything, maybe the obligatory giftshop can be in there as well? And for the restaurant, a new menu menu perhaps?

I've not read this thread in a few weeks. This has been a wave of emotion. No more Blackstone and a new ride? What a time to be alive.

And they are reportedly looking into making Kraken Queueless. If any park can benefit from this system, it's SWO.

I think this will also benefit Mako. It'll pull more people to the back of the park that seems to be mostly barren at the moment.

Makes me think, 2019 will probably just be minor stuff (updating Wild Arctic perhaps?), but hopefully will see a new flat ride of sorts, but anyway on to 2020, a family coaster that someone here rumored, where would this go? Is there room in the area by Wild Artic and kidzone?

Whew! Thank god it's a rapids ride. Orlando really needed one. ;)

This has the possibility to be what Kali River (Or should I say Tiger River) should have been. I've always thought that Seaworld should keep attempting to merge animal experiences with their rides- which would really set them apart. Aquatica does this well- in Orlando, you slide under dolphins- and in San Antonio- you have a family raft ride w/ no height requirement that goes under the stingrays (with a good 10 seconds of viewing time as it's at the bottom). Additionally- the lazy river goes through San Antonio's aviary- which is awesome!

If this can take those elements and add it to this ride- this has the chance of really hitting it off. Lots of birds, maybe some monkeys, etc. If it's just plants and water- it's a big miss.

I kind of feel bad for Seaworld, they're struggling enough as it is they announce a new ride and then Universal decides to make a Harry Potter announcement.

I love that the lazy river passes through the aviary in Discovery Cove.

I think for this rapids ride we'll see the flamingos from the queue, parrots out front, and lots of animal interactions after you exit in front of the restaurant building (and/or out on the main path like they do now.) But I do not think we'll see much of any animals on the actual ride. We may be moving by too fast to see them anyway if they did.

That being said they could have the parrots visible from queue AND part of the ride. (And we may even see them longer than the animatronic one at Typhoon Lagoon's new ride.)

It's a great addition for SeaWorld. Another water ride for hot summer days, family friendly yet still thrilling and in what has been an underutilized area of the park. It used to be with the beer samples and Clydesdales that area was jumping, but it never really found a purpose after the changeover.

Really excited to see SeaWorld tackle freshwater environments. It's always been something under-represented at the park, save for the manatee having some gars with them. I'd love to see another Manta-esk large purely fish aquarium; Arapaima, Peacock Bass, Pacu, Amazonian fish are so cool. And of course birds.
Speaking of the ride itself, I've never been a huge fan of river rapids but I see the value of a family water ride especially if they elect to phase out the whale and dolphin splash areas. I think it'll bring a lot of kinetic energy to an area of the park that really seems a dead zone, as others here have said, and just add to the overall "completeness" of the park as a whole.
High hopes this ride is the first of a new post-Blackstone era!

Look at the SWO website. They just completely changed everything about it when this announcement occurred. I don't know what I think of it yet.

They also added this:
Express Park Entry
Skip the lines at park entry and start your day sooner with a preferred parking space, entry to the park without the lines, and an entrance expert to set up your party for your day at SeaWorld.
  • Entry via Lighthouse Lobby with no lines or wait times.
  • Concierge service inside the Lighthouse Lobby to get your day started. VIP security and bag check with no lines.
  • Preferred Parking

Harry Potter does absolutely nothing for me so I didn't even care what they were doing over there. I am I suppose in the minority however so I get what you're saying. I love this attraction. I rarely ever ride raft rides (or shoot-the-chutes) because I hate being drenched from head to toe. I will give this one a try and be sure to dress properly for it so I'll dry quickly.

They've been doing that express entry for a couple of months now, I think they're just promoting it more.

Might as well grab a poncho for Journey to Atlantis and head on over to this ride after or vice versa.
