I'm surprised there's yet to be coverage on if there's softs today and/or how it's working, just would like to have some more foresight to take into next week.

If I was Universal I'd push up a drink/ice cream cart every 30 mins....they will break and want something to cool off while they wait for the ride to never open

When I was there yesterday it was like until 7 PM people just stood there waiting

Good opportunity to train up some scare actors. Send out a chainsaw horde and watch the people scatter.

Chainsaw guy runs in and scares everyone but one guy

Guy "You can't scare me"
The Chainsaw man hands him a slip of paper with the words "The coaster isn't testing today"
Guy runs away screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO AHHHHH"

Anecdotally, it sounds like the front line team members responsible for crowd control aren't handling this especially well. I get that the entitlement and very real congestion issues caused by hovering guests is frustrating, but there's gotta be a balance in politely explaining that there's no guarantee the ride will open today (and therefore we encourage you to visit other attractions...) versus yelling at guests or criticizing them for waiting.

Agreed

Also through, I will say I had friend's there yesterday and they had security move people JUST to open the line less then a minute later

This is not on the general TM's but its like if your going to push people away then open the ride, its not a good deal for those waiting

I know USH doesn't want a line but I'd rather them set up a line area then just have 10 people waiting in front of it. I'd set up a line and make people stand in line and no holding spots you want to wait all day cool but do it in an orderly fashion to help and have the line start a few feet away from the entrance to clear the area more

It’s pretty basic soft opening etiquette though, no?

Don’t loiter too long. Don’t bunch up. Don’t form a crowd. If one does form, they will likely break it up eventually.

I feel like a huge part of the problem would be solved if they just put up a sign saying "It will not be opening today" rather than forcing the team members standing at the gate to be asked, "Is this opening today?" every three seconds by every single person who walks by. Especially now that it's soft opened and "the word is out," staff just standing there in the entrance behind the fence is only going to continue to bait people into crowding needlessly or getting pissy with the employees.
