I personally think that unless you or someone you know lives in Toluca Lake, your opinion on the sound issue is probably null.

I lived directly next to Kings Island for 9 months, a park with far more far louder roller coasters. Trust me, it's Karens being Karens.

You have to deal with stuff you don't like for your entire life. This doesn't impact the environment or their bills, it's only slightly annoying. It's entitlement.

People like this are the exact reason why we don't have good public transportation in 99% of the country.

The sound is part of the environment they live in ... and they get to determine how annoying they find it. It's not entitlement to expect Universal to honor its agreement (which, it should be noted, it appears they're trying to do!)

I'm here right now and got to ride the coaster 4 times before it closed its doors. The valley happened much earlier on in the day and they quickly got the train running back through the course with the guests riding. The line closure has nothing to do with it. The ride is still cycling the rest of the guests that had gotten in the queue before it closed up and its likely that the queue will reopen sometime tonight. When I was waiting for the coaster to open this morning, a bunch of team members kept telling us the ride wasn't going to open today in an attempt to make the giant mob go away and yet, it opened.

There's a short booster launch in that section of the layout. It launched the train forwards, then backwards, and then forwards again, this time clearing the turn over the escalators. I was sitting on the next train waiting to be sent out as it happened and I was so mad it didn't happen to us.

My dude, the difference is that the theme park has literal, codified obligations to their neighbors that they appear to not entirely be meeting right now. There's a reason that they specified that they'll be doing additional noise testing in their notice to residents.

Cool, so I CAN complain about loud ass police copters flying over my house at all hours of the night?lol

Just keep in mind this is being blown up to create a news story. Most people in the area aren't complaining (I do live in the area).

Most people have actually read the notices sent out by the park that noise and screams are still being monitored, and the park will work WITH THE NEIGHBORS to mitigate as much noise as possible or the course of the testing period.

Also here, they were testing about 15 minutes ago. An entire ride op crew also just went into the station so there may be some sort of exchange going on.
