Hotel rankings for adults?

Hey everyone. Looking for IU opinions or best hotels for adults, no kids, gay male couple (if that fun fact matters) at the resort. To say price doesn’t matter isn’t fair, but we would splurge if deemed worth it. Looking for many opinions!

I really like the Polynesian's vibe for an adults-only thing that is a splurge if you're looking to stay on property. I've also heard nothing but good things about the Conrad which is relatively close and does a better job justifying its (steep) price from a luxury standpoint than any of the Disney hotels.

Port Orleans is, IMO, the most ""affordable"" Disney hotel that you could also call romantic, if that's what you're looking for.

Check out the Sawn, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve. I know folks who stay there and say it's a bit more adult crowd than the Disney owned properties (which is all relative ya know lol). I love the Polynesian and think it and Beach/Yacht Club could be a good choice.

Came here to say this. Usually less expensive than the Disney resorts, but you are in walking distance to Hollywood Studios and Epcot as well as access to the Boardwalk and the hotels there. Plus the hotels themselves are really nice and tons of amenities.

Orleans French Quarter is mostly adults, and not a lot of kids. Scatman Bar has very good music on the weekends.

I’ll always say Animal Kingdom Lodge but it’s pretty much my favorite place in WDW so I’m probably biased.

To be fair, when I am staying on site at Disney, I want to feel like I am getting the full Disney experience. To my fiancé and I (both male, haha, so there's your benchmark) this means cheesy, fun, character filled Disney. Pop Century has exploded since the skyliner addition, so our new similar refuges have been the All Stars. Granted, this is absolutely not everyone's bag, I totally get that, but we love the kitsch of it all, coupled with the standard Disney perks (transportation and early park admission, etc).

We love visiting Polynesian and the Lodges, but have never stayed there because we are also budget folks, lol. All Star keeps the cost low and smacks you across the face with Disney whimsy from the get go, haha

One big advantage at Orleans French Quarter is that since its much smaller than the other moderate resorts, there's only 'one' bus stop, which makes for a really fast trip to all of the parks. Don't under estimate the value of that.

Yeah, Sports especially can be a special type of hell when it’s loaded up with travel sports teams.

If money is no object, then it’s all location, location, location. For me personally I spend most of my time at Epcot and MK so being at a monorail resort is preferable. I like staying at all three so I just find the cheapest room, which, 90% of the time means I’m staying in the Garden Wing of the Contemporary (it’s a short three story building just south of the main A-frame and it’s usually $200-300 less then any other monorail room a night.) The rooms are exact copies of what’s in the A-frame except no balcony. They are usually quiet and more secluded then the A-frame. The other plus of the contemporary is its waking distance from MK and only one stop away from the TTC and Epcot Monorail leaving the hotel, and if you don’t want to walk back the contemporary is the first stop leaving the MK (which means your only long ride is coming back from Epcot.)

If you are more of an Epcot/DHS person, look into the crescent lake resorts for being walking distance or a boat ride away from those parks.

Also don’t forget, deluxe guests get evening EMH Monday night at Epcot and one additional night somewhere else (usually Wed at MK Jan-Mid August, DHS mid Aug-Oct, and AL Nov-Dec.)

Oh absolutely, haha, that's why I prefaced with we like the cheese and bustle, even as childless adults. I 1000% understand that is not everyone's cup of tea, I think for us it just comes with the territory, lol

TBF I realy enjoyed Pop when I went with my sis in 2022.

I think Coronado is very underrated. I’ve enjoyed every stay there. The lake restaurant rocks.

Yacht/Beach followed by Coronado have been the best in my experience. Having a balcony overlooking the Boardwalk (not the pool) is one of the most relaxing vibes on property.

Really appreciate the responses here. Into everything you’ve all said. I will share with my BF! The Boardwalk as a hotel we’re not obsessed with, but the boardwalk area itself is so appealing. So Swan and Dolphin and Yacht Club are intriguing, to me at least.

I will say, Swan and Dolphin looks nice and is definitely more adult-oriented, HOWEVER, i will say their buses would stop me from staying there again. Because they're not a "DISNEY" resort (moreso partner) they don't get the regular 10 minute Disney buses. Their buses have scheduled. Their schedules are not perfect. I've seen a lot of human error and waiting in my time with S&D resorts; often times in the sun with no shade. Would not recommend if you're prioritizing the parks in any way OR do your homework and show up early for buses when staying there.

Personally, i would second something like Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach, Coronado Springs (TOWER only), and Port Orleans Riverside. Of course, if you have the money, throw in Riviera or Grand Floridian into the mix. I haven't seen many kids in my time at either of those in particular.

My niece and her husband stayed at the Swan in February. They said they wouldn't go back there because the bus transportation was undependable. Of course, if someone was going to primarily attend Epcot and DHS, it wouldn't be a primary issue.

I would also say that I stayed at Boulder Creek (rented points) for the princess half marathon weekend. It was honestly one of my fave DVC rooms I’ve ever stayed. The busses were sometimes annoying but it was such a nice stay.
