Will yoshi be available during early entry?

I’ve been hearing Toad will not be available during the Yoshi daytime M&G. We’ll see if that holds true. Also, Yoshi might not be meeting inside the land itself, but just outside it, by the green pipes.

I think it would make more sense to have the meet and greet where the Fan Fest Yoshis were last year, since its an air conditioned area that wouldn't make a congestion nightmare (unless they use the Transformers queue which would probably violate a ton of contracts).

They use the Transformer extended Q for most HHN for years now

So honestly that would make sense if Yoshi is meeting all day but needs breaks and you can keep a big line without it getting in the way of the park

The Yoshi line at fan fest closed like right as it opened last year for Green Yoshi....so hoping they know how bust he is and are working on a way to make him out for most the day...but we will find out in less then 24 hours

I'm not sure if that would work, since Mario Kart may need that queue space during the day.

Counterpoint: They spent so so so much money to make this land happen in the middle of a working film and television studio. The disruption was enormous, and they basically made the most of every square foot they were able to secure.

The other reality is that there is an upper limit on the number of characters you're going to be able to regularly meet from any given property. The land already has Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad out on a daily basis, with Yoshi appearing for special events. Nintendo would need to be its own theme park if it were going to have the variety of costumed characters you're throwing out here.

I did EA entry today the ride did not open until like 7:35 AM.....

I did get to meet Peach and Mario with no waits but.....thats rough. I felt bad for tourist you spend 25 bucks a person and the ride you want to get on isn't even open most the hour...just rough


As for Yoshi they Killed it with moving the line. Like one of the quickest lines I've ever done for a BIG character. This needs to be more the standard for Fan Fest.....we need to find a way to moveeeee people so lines for characters aren't an hour. Like even at the back of this line I don't think it would take 15 mins

Yoshi met at 10:15 AM and mostly every hour after that until like 3:15 PM I think was the last time. Funny enough the TM's in the morning would not say when he would stop meeting but by the afternoon they were telling people his last times

The Luma shoulder pet is 40 dollars, so I skipped on it. Its very cool looking. They also had movie merch some of it fair enough priced and some kind of insane for how small the toys were

Two new food items but neither were something I needed so didn't try them but heard other's enjoyed the popcorn and cupcake

I wasn’t gonna post this here but at this point, why not? I wrote a guest feedback thingy a week ago, basically saying, “Me and a crap ton of other guests will give you more money if you represent Daisy more” and surprisingly, I got a response within 24 hours.

This is the first time I’ve ever written custom feedback, and surprised I got a response at all, let alone this thoughtful. Of course this will lead to nothing probably, but it’s cool to feel heard.

Written guest feedback is one of those things that can be added to a big internal document to show to a brand holder to convince them that a certain decision would be in the best interest of both parties. Conversations like that can take an obscenely long time, especially with really guarded and difficult companies like Nintendo. But I would not be surprised if your comment did get added to a folder somewhere for use in those discussions, even if just as a statistic like "We've received over 500+ guest comments within this time period regarding further utilization of Princess Daisy".

Like you say, even if nothing happens, it all helps. I'm incredibly confident that these conversations have come up between UDX and Nintendo regarding characters like Wario, Rosalina, Daisy, and others. Hopefully we see things ease up eventually.

The usage of Daisy is extra confusing because she’s a main character of the land, has a power-up band but is still treated like a distant family member, lol. Bob-omb has more merch than her, a literal enemy who’s merchandise I like never see sell or have seen in public. The character with a power up band doesn’t even have a shirt, like huh?? Not even a pin?? Not even apart of the key art?? (at any location, lol).

Something tells me Daisy was relative last minute decision to the plans that Universal Creative pitched to Nintendo, and they “approved”. She’s treated better in Japan (still distant though, people over are dying for a true meet n greet) so I don’t what the heck is going on here with this character. She’s like in purgatory. Something tells me it’s Nintendo being super weird.

Semi-related, but this is why I think pushing FFN improvements/suggestions in surveys is important too. Since the land is part of FFN I'm sure that in this scenario there could be an overlap in this same kind of statistic in how many people want to see them at future FFN years too. That said I have hope that FFN might be the most practical way to bring other characters in, especially if they take a page from this year and spread multiple characters out so there's no giant line for one character.

It is very strange that she has a Power-Up Band and virtually nothing else. Basically the only character to be treated like that. I personally believe there was a decision made that they should sell another "feminine"-coded Band in order to sell more, and Daisy was the character Nintendo decided on for that single and very specific decision. Literally any other appearance for the character was an entirely seperate conversation and battle to be fought.

Nintendo is in a weird spot with Daisy, where she was largely created by Camelot for use in spinoffs, and I think that has always held her back from more consistent appearances. Rosalina has far more appearances in the mainline series than her, Wario, and especially Waluigi, another Camelot creation. I don't think it's a coincidence that Miyamoto is the head creative for the SNW projects, and that he also had little involvement with Super Mario Land, Mario Tennis, or Daisy's playable mainline debut, Mario Bros Wonder. Unfortunately, I don't think she is much of a priority to him. Hopefully her growing presence across the series reaches him.

I'd say that hopefully the Post Credits scene of the Galaxy movie is a positive sign, but it seems like Yoshi got the big promotional theme park push for that film over new Rosalina merch and appearances, so we'll just have to see.

I think it's actually really simple: Daisy isn't all that prominent a character, primarily existing in Party or Sports titles to expand the female roster. She doesn't headline her own games like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi all do. Toad is an omnipresent fixture in most Mario-centric titles, so he kind of exists in his own lane.

Not knocking her. Daisy's spunky personality is a fun counterpoint to Peace's relative tranquility/stateliness, and it looks like she will get more of a focus in the next Mario film, which could in turn lead to more of a park presence. But for now, the park has limited bandwidth and resources for meetable characters in Super Nintendo World, and they're choosing to prioritize Peach, the more recognizable character that most guests would prefer to meet over Daisy. I do think there could be more merchandise for her, but again, she just isn't all that prominent outside of certain gamer circles. Her inclusion as a Power Band I think just speaks to Nintendo's desire to include a second female option.
