Update?

I found out after I posted that Universal was still working an avenue to make Art work. There was a delay, due to the possibility that they legally couldn’t use it. It’s apparent they solved it. To the “totality” statement, the fact this got randomly dropped on a Friday (which is extremely rare for HHN announcements), and not in sequence across either of the last two weeks, I feel kinda reinforces the precariousness.

I’m new to speculation this season and haven’t written much as I’m kind of learning but genuinely curious. Does this thread stop after the last house announcement? It’s become my routine to check this almost daily so I’m kind of going to miss it when it’s over

There's clear evidence Terrifier and Art were in jeopardy. They awkwardly announced Killer Klowns with no details during scare zone week... then randomly dropped the actual scare zone, now with Art included, a week later.

I think the weird “more coming soon” and just the Klowns was enough to know something was off with the zone legally, shocked anyone would question that. Glad they worked it out though because as much as I love the Killer Klowns, I think the whole vision is going to be much more worth it all put together.

Probably stupid to ask this early, but I wonder if we can expect to see some merch for the zone? We got Fortnitemares Zone merch, I kinda wonder if we’ll get some clowns stuff as well. The past few years have (finally) had some good original merch pieces, with oddfellow’s year having probably the best, but I could see some sort of shirt with Art and the Killer Klowns on it.

I don’t get the fortnite reference you made. Maybe it’s because when i have played the game i am exploring the map more than trying to survive. But absolutely agreed on your point

Respectfully going to bring up something I brought up on Downtown Clown Town; but I think it's important to bring it here. If the situation for Art would've called for drastic changes; then why did Behavior Interactive not delay the announcement of Terrifer for Dead By Daylight not even two days after the initial filing of the copyright lawsuits.

I think when you consider how far out they have to plan, adjust, and work with the various parties; that Universal would've had multiple safety nets put in place before dramatic changes would need to be in place to prevent the use of the "Terrifer" IP. I also suspect that with just how successful the incorporation of "Art The Clown" was on his own terms last year--that having him remain on his own level without the ties to the Terrifer naming makes sense.

It's not like the Killer Klowns from Outer Space, where the name of the group is the name of the IP (And that you can't separate specific clown characters in that). I think for Orlando--it just made logical sense that if they were going to use only Art The Clown for their clown based scarezone with other IP clowns; that Art would stand on his own two feet.

I also think there is an element where one should consider Orlando and Hollywood acting on different levels when in comparison to eachother; because at the end of the day both events work at differing scales that benefit eachother.

The plans one has for one IP, might never be the same exact as that of the other. And that's ok.

Active lawsuits that make the creation of the films look incredibly bad. The accusations include creepy, illegal stuff behind-the-scenes like taking non-consensual nudes of the actors, mistreating them, and not appropriately paying people what they were owed/breaching contracts. Definitely stuff Universal would probably like to detach themselves from.

I haven’t gotten any of the carousel pieces but I absolutely would buy a Klown one. I did however, have to just book a flight to LA the last week of September/first week of October, and if the rumors they have a Klowns house is true, I went ahead and got a FF for Hollywood as well to try and get it all done. I went last year and had an absolute blast, did not expect to be going this year as well. Will be really fun to have a direct comparison as well since I’ll be at HHN in Orlando from the 27th-14th.

For what it’s worth, to get the UPAP discount for an Epic Universe ticket, each AP holder has to buy their own as the ticket attaches to the AP. I assume it’s the same for HHN, but certainly worth calling to ask.

Partially correct, if you have friends/family on your account, your travel party, that are also AP's, you can buy a ticket for them.
