So i find it, get it charged, go to the eShop and find out that the TWELVE YEAR OLD Mario Kart 8 is priced at $60. There is no legitimate reason for this. Games like GTA 5 continue to sell a huge number of copies, and I can buy that game from the Sony or Microsoft store right now for $18.

As a physical game collector I don't mind the lack of discounts as it helps keep my games from losing all value(mario kart 8 looks to still be worth mid $30).

You can't compare Mario Kart to GTA, they are 2 different business models. GTA makes the vast majority of their money from Micro transactions so they need the maximum amount of people to have their game to sucker people into micro transactions.

I have to vent about why Nintendo continues to get on my freaking nerves with their game pricing why nobody ever calls them out on it. I have a handheld full of retro games and my kids love to play the old Mario games including Mario Kart on SNES and 64.

The other day my son tells me one of his friends let him play Mario Kart 8 on Switch and now he wants that game. I own a Switch that haven't used in years, but since I already had one I said sure. The way they explain it is that they don’t want people to think less of software just because it’s old. Plenty of people complain about it but what most don’t say is that if you pay attention you CAN get these games on sale (Black Friday and Mar10 Day are two very consistent times to look), there’s just rarely any price drops that are permanent. On the other side of the spectrum you have Ubisoft that not only has a spotty recent track record of quality but has also trained people to just wait 1 or 2 months to get a game for 50% off and look at how they’re currently doing. Nintendo’s pricing is definitely irregular, but they’re also one of the few huge AAA companies that hasn’t laid anyone off.

Go to ebay and type in Mario Kart 8 deluxe and you will find plenty for the $30-$40 range.
