Hey, if it’s anything like Japan’s charming and cozy Amity Landing restaurant, I’m all for it.

The GP did not. People were celebrating its removal.

But people do not like Fallon either. On the average day, it sees at max around a 25 minute wait (usually more like 15, most of which is preshow time).

I was severely disappointed by the JAWS swiss roll we got over here last year for the event compared to the one I had in Japan the other year. It was straight up bad, so I wouldn’t have high hopes for other themed snacks they would copy.

After having the version of it in Japan my wife and I were very excited to see it over here…I don’t think we even got through half of it. :lmao:

I’ve found the event baked goods/sweets the last few years are extremely hit or miss, there’s no average middle ground, and honestly it’s more often a miss. They sometimes look good, but are awful to actually eat.

It is with my wife, at least. It's her favorite attraction at USF.

Wasn't really defending Fallon, more so pointing out that we're reflecting on Twister's time with rose-colored glasses.

Believe me, I’d love to see Fallon replaced. I think he’s extremely milquetoast, but that’s also probably why it plays better with the GP.

And wait times alone really don’t mean much. There are plenty of attractions at Universal and Disney that are well-liked but don’t pull massive waits.

It's been a couple of years, but the overall GSATs were generally positive. Not like "Upper Tier", just adequate for the ride. I know for a while the queue system was the biggest gripe, but that's been done away with now.

TBH I don't view Fallon as being an untouchable attraction over the next decade, even if it's as simple as an SNL overlay. The broadcast landscape is changing dramatically, and unfortunately I don't think Colbert ending tonight will be the last major last night shift we have before 2030. Video concepts and podcasts have really taken over the online grasp late night had pre-pandemic. Keeping the Tonight Show brand alive remains valuable for NBC right now, but will it in a few years? Race Through New York is at the nine year mark now, and obviously Fallon's personal longevity has been discussed from the start. He's reached a point where Seth Meyers is ahead some nights, so it's not even like Fallon is the golden ambassador for NBCUni he once was years ago.

The late night talk show on broadcast television is an antiquated format that needs to end immediately (and not just because I'd like a different concept in the Race Through New York building).

The saddest part of losing Fallon would be losing 30 Rock. It's a gorgeous building and fits perfectly into New York!

The very small footprint limits what can be done with the space. Fallon was best when the preshow regularly had the Ragtime Gals and the panda performing most of the day. That was a real highlight. I've rarely seen the singers the past few years. As for those who imagine a prominent NBC lobby as a walk through attraction replacing the ride, I would think no. We've been on the ride 'lots', since it's Alenes' fav ride in the park, but I've yet to see anyone, besides myself, spend any time looking at the NBC Today show displays.

Now, I'd expect the park realizes the film will have a finite lifetime, due to the nature of its content, so I guess there's long range plans to replace the film with another film when the time comes. Once Simpsons closes there will be one less simulator in the park, so Race won't stand out so much.

I think some combination of two of Supercharged (which we already know is going away), Simpsons, Race Through New York, and Minion Mayhem need to be replaced by primarily practical/physical experiences, and whichever two still remain would then feel less superfluous and redundant.

I don't see Minions going away for a while especially with all the work they put into Illumination Avenue in the last few years.

Besides Supercharged, my guess is Simpsons would get the axe first. There are of course all the rumors about Pokemon going in there and I think that's the most likely contender. I wish very, very, very. badly that Race Through New York would disappear but I have a feeling that one will hang a little longer than we expect (unfortunately.)

Probably true, but you never know! Nobody thought Supercharged would be going away after being open less than a decade. I could see some scenario where something else Minions/Despicable Me could go into the Minion Mayhem plot.

We can deduce that Springfield makes the most sense to go next, but any rumors about it have gone ice cold. Pokemon's headed to IOA.
