I guess it’s still better than Disneyland still checking bags with a wooden stick.

But even in Florida, Disney has the upgraded security where they don't check bags and you just walk through. Only certain things will set off the alarms and then your bag is checked to the side so as not to back up the flow of people trying to get in.

It is baffeling to me that Disney doesn't even have consistent security procedures on both coasts. You'd think as a company, it would be better to have one system throughout all parks everywhere.

Security cast members at Disney World are part of a different union than at Disneyland; I always assumed that had something to do with it.

Yeah, if not the unions then I don't know what it is

People get upset when you make the assumption but really makes no sense we can't upgrade security but look at USH....they are also going the same route

So I guess CA companies are just unwilling to update how we have bags scanned....you'd think the tech is better now then the 10-25 years we've been doing this

I also think it depends on what you mean by, "better." Are these new scanners better at deterring threats than a series of metal detectors and employees going through your bags? If yes, how much better? And are there tradeoffs for using that kind of technology?

I've spent plenty of time frustrated by slow-moving security queues at Disneyland, so I get it. But I also think the whole act of screening every guest that goes to a theme park total nonsense anyway, so I'm not exactly itching for them to spend more money on (potentially) more invasive ways to scan me in the name of safety ... especially because I don't really believe these things keep anyone safe.

I mean them putting there hands in my bag for me is a worst invasion of privacy

You scanning my bag, cool what does this really do but make it where they only have to pull over and search some people over everyone

USH system is fine but I just doubt they are using the most update to date and would like a better system them me having to pull out my water and showing them its empty on dates for HHN and Fan Fest

Mainly for USH, I want the tech looking for Vaping Devices....yes sorry I'm lame and don't want to see people taking hits of vapes while in the park but I still see people doing it so for me if you can sneak it in feels like the tech or training needs to be updated and hoping we see it much less soon once the switch over happens because there are a few spots in Citywalk people like to "hide" and Vape
