I assume it'll be like the EVOLVE scanners at WDW, there will be a side lane for guests to fix issues if they arrise. But yeah, even if it's 99.99% accurate you're going to have at least one error every hour!

I guess that's where I'm confused. Where is the side lane? The scanners appear to be right in front of the narrowing portal entrance. Are employees going to have to awkwardly cut across traffic and redirect guests out of the portal they've likely already stepped into?

I'm guessing there will be employees deeper in the portal to catch the errors. Just stop them "sorry there's been a problem, can you step to the side here?"

This kind of interaction is going to make the target and anyone else who witnesses it uncomfortable and defensive. This entire effort is going to create a terrible security-state atmosphere completely opposed to the escape-from-reality theme parks rely upon to maximize guest satisfaction - and spending. Yes, we are surrounded by cameras and our privacy has been destroyed, but the entrance to a theme park land shouldn’t remind us of this.

What makes all of this more infuriating is the fact that it’s all being done because of a lack of adequate planning prior to opening and a reluctance to spend the money to fix the situation now.

I've been a greeter at multiple different rides at multiple different parks. It's an uphill battle just trying to get guests to put stuff in a locker. I've been screamed at, pushed, guests will try to sneak around me, etc. I can't imagine that but for every land. It won't work without a security presence and that would just take guests out of the experience.

We have no clue how they are gonna address this.

Let’s hope for the best.

I’m only quoting this portion of your comment because this is another example of you jumping to conclusions and being completely wrong. We gotta chill with the hyperbole.
