I can’t believe I have to say this online but: plants grow.

I'd love for them to add indoor partially covered arcades throughout some of the emptier areas like at the front of the park...

I understand there are challenges with fire code requirements, but this would be a nice touch.

This could be a very welcome addition. The way they have styled the covered walkways / seating areas right in the opening plaza around the shops / SBUX looks very elegant and fits the Celestial vibe well. I think they could just carry that style to other areas of the park.

A minor point, but Celestial Gardens needs more gardens. I’m thinking of the way the plaza in front of the castle used to be at MK, with tons of flowers and a little rose garden walk. The name isn’t Celestial Pavement…

Agreed, concrete seems way more primarily for a celestial park and this meterial generate too much heat. Area need more diversity and density of flowers and trees, world of avatar can be a good example.

Before the park opened, I was firmly in the camp that didn't want general access to the Celestial land without a park ticket for evenings, or any time. But after seeing how the overall park operates, especially with its very extreme capacity/operations issues, and a capacity solution many years away, I've changed my mind. Celestial is very much being underutilized. The present restaurants, and the unopened planned ones, will not be able to achieve their optimum operations until this area accommodates more traffic. Money (profit) is being left on the table. Profit that can be used to 'complete' Epic with the three new D/E ticket high capacity attractions it sorely needs. Celestial is beautiful, and has a lot to offer with its fountains and gardens and restaurants. At this point in time it's rarely crowded.

So, it behooves Universal to open this area, at some time of the day or night, to the general public and/or AP's. I'm on record as saying I wouldn't visit Epic much until the park is complete, which it is far from . But, 'If' Universal opened Celestial to guests after 5:00 PM (as an example), I'd actually bus over there from the North Campus often to enjoy the beauty, ambiance and restaurants of Celestial. Presently Celestial is not what it was expected to be crowd wise. May as well let it prosper while the rest of Epic grows out, which will take at least four/five/six years worth of expansions.

Epic's guests often leave early, so that opens up parking spots, plus almost all of the North Campus on site hotel guests use the complimentary busses, not their cars.

I'm curious
I'm used to almost never paying for parking ( except the normal visits to Islands and studios obviously)

horror nights, always did free parking. citywalk, visit after 6 pm.
and I'm guessing that most people paying for parking at citywalk are mostly going to the parks?

but I always wonder, do a lot of people pay parking during the day to just hang around and dine at citywalk?
would I pay parking for celestial? probably not. but I would get dropped off by a friend or something.

Just curiously, but do the AP's that give free parking work at Epic's parking lot?

I can't believe we're circling back to this argument... again. Yes, it needs more shade; but again... landscaping always looks sparse on day one. Give it a few years, let the trees grow in, and I think the balance between open space and greenery will feel a lot better.

Celestial Park isn’t meant to be a dense jungle like Pandora. It's supposed to be an open hub with a mix of everything of greenery, fountains, walkable areas, etc.

FWIW - the name isn't Celestial Gardens, either.

I guess that when I hear " give it a few years"
it makes me wonder how many years exactly. like, how long does it take for the trees to fully grow.

It took Volcano Bay about 4-5, and that was aiming to be tropical. Of course, Orlando got hit with that cold snap, so Epic's foliage has to make up for what it lost first.

It hasn’t even been a year since Epic opened and we got that legendary cold snap.

The landscaping all across the state let alone the theme parks took a big hit.

This past week has been another great time to visit Epic. The line times are even better than the March 22nd through 28th slow week. IOA and USF are super slow too. Note: The two weeks sandwiched around Easter were extremely long lines.

This bears watching. During most of the first 10 months, Epic still had moderate at the least crowds when IOA and USF were slow crowds. Now, it seems like Epic is starting to mimic the crowd levels of IOA and USF on a daily basis. i.e. slow at IOA/USF, slow at Epic.....busy at IOA/USF busy at Epic......I'm guessing the large ticket pre sale of shiny brand new park Epic is starting to abate and that Epic is basically normalizing now. Perhaps this recent trend will not hold up, but it will be interesting to watch.

It's the start of a quiet period between now and Memorial Day, but yes, Epic's newness is tapering off. With no annual passholders to support during slower periods, the park should be a pleasant experience.

Went to Flora for dinner last night and then Bar Helios, Helios was a ghost town.

Yes, the APH situation will be interesting. I don't think very many AP's, that have bought Epic tickets in the past year, will continue to purchase that expensive one day ticket (discount is fairly small). So that ship has mostly sailed. We'll probably see some movement on a limited Epic included AP pass before the end of this year.

And, yes, May is generally a moderate to slow month before Memorial Day week.....but summers in Orlando, at both Universal and WDW have been declining every year since 2017. I'd expect that trend to continue. Epic/Nintendo land might get some extra family interest due to the very successful Mario movie though. I'm betting on heavy August hotel discounts again this year, like last year, to spur visitation. That will be interesting to watch come late July announcements like last year. Florida's uncomfortable summer heat/rain has become a gamechanger since schools have been scheduling longer Fall and Spring breaks, thus enabling families to come during better weather times.
