I don’t think Hollywood stays past Summer 2028, I’m gonna be honest.

I'm not sure about how contracts are negotiated, but I'm sure they could let Orlando's Simpsons close earlier since it's not bound by optics from a massive summer olympics event. I imagine they want to get moving on the replacement there soon since USF needs all it can get

See I think a extension could make sense--if you consider Orlando's in a more unique state than Hollywood is.

As it stands, they're about to gear up for a replacement of Supercharged that will take some time to develop (did you know it's been over a year since our Supercharged has closed--with no replacement to show for it!), they're about to probably do Pokemon for Islands, and depending on how things play out--will be beginning two major expansions for Epic Universe relatively quickly and will take time out of pocket. That's also not taking to account of what they're working on now with Hollywood Drift.

As much as I would hate to argue it, I actually kind of wonder if they might work out a extension for Orlando than Hollywood--to keep USF's open and operational while harvesting our organs and internals, to preserve and keep the attraction alive until they can get to USF's Springfield for a replacement.

If people remember a little bit of history--this actually wouldn't be the first time a similar situation has happened. Infact, it's with the same manufacturer, of Intamin. When Tower of Terror closed down at Dreamworld in the Gold Coast, when the closure process happened. Six Flags Magic Mountain opted to scoop and gut what they could of TOT, to then be put into Superman where it was then used for as long as they could, before that closed.

I believe I have heard Universal using this strategy when Spidah-Man closed in Osaka, with the scoops, but I can be wrong.

I suspect a similar situation might actually be in play. Considering I don't think Disney would be rejective from the get go on a potential extension, but I actually do kind of wonder if Universal might be selective on which coast gets that extension.

Also as far as I have heard...Hollywood isn't really keen on spending the upkeep unless absolutely necessary.

Universal was very diligent with EU construction. Who's to say they could figure out a way to work on UOR's current slate of projects and throw a Simpsons replacement in the mix. I think Universal knows the underlying Simpsons ride system is begging to be put down at this point and doesn't really want to prolong unless they really have to.

With Disney working on a significant number of major projects, available third party contractors/builders/etc. might be tight for a while.

We have had movies based on single rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion but a movie based on an entire theme park land could be interesting.
