I still believe Hellraiser. I defiantly don't believe TCM instead. We will see more once we get an updated HNN spec map. Easter one is coming! I personally don't believe HoH. Sure, they got stuff right in the past, but they have got stuff wrong. I will personally believe HNN and Hellraiser still, epically as the rumor has been strong and appeared on both (Christmas and V.1) the HNN spec maps.

My thoughts on the HoH map.

The “Invasion of Lightning Gulch” is a verbatim suggestion I made in one of the Discord servers.

View attachment 29366

There is no intimation (from what I’ve heard) that Pumpkin Lord is returning—let alone getting a house.

Vanity Ball is not rumored as a zone. It’s implied connection to a Buzzcon house is speculation based on a theory tied to makeup (Train is a type of makeup case). It makes sense that someone misinterpreted that speculation as rumor and believes it’s returning in some capacity because of it.

The shows are still largely speculative. There is no reason to believe the Fuel Girls are returning, however (which is where the “Fuel” in Nightmare Fuel came from). So listing “Nightmare Fuel” is extremely presumptuous.

And I’ve heard the TCM rumor, but no one I fully trust has confirmed it; They outright refuted it.

Pumpkin Lord is probably being saved for another anniversary I hope he returns. But anyways I think the focus this year will lean towards the lantern.

But I still hope he shows up in some way, maybe in a zone.

They’re done with Pumpkin Lord.

Shoot. The only icons they included in the panel slide show (outside Oddfellow) were characters introduced prior to 21. That should tell you where they place the gourd.

Exactly that’s what I mean the lantern, they are saving Pumpkin Lord for another year. Like 40, Regardless I’m excited to see the icons from the Lantern back.

Also Pumpkin Lord and fear war for 40!

I want to believe. But TCM came out of nowhere seemingly -- and if an IP fell through, the guys you already send a check to quarterly (for Vegas) are probably the safest bet for an easy-to-get-approved replacement IP.

If it’s Texas I want it to be the remake, The 70’s thing has become overdone to death.

Sinners is also new line cinema

What are the odds someone saw props/set pieces for Sinners and associated it with TCM?

I mean, I could see a small homestead set or something for Sinners being mistaken for something from TCM.

I think that Hellraiser makes so much sense for this year, given the proliferation of other Hellraiser-related IP, like the video game and the comics. It feels like a stars aligning type situation much as with Jason Un1v3rse last year (which I know I've said before). Highly skeptical that Hellraiser is out.

With that said, I do think there is a world in which an IP drops, and an old faithful comes in to replace it, and TCM is the kind of standby that you COULD see coming in to replace (much as The Purge once did). I love TCM personally, but I would much prefer Hellraiser for obvious reasons, so let's hope.

What is the rights situation with HR? It’s a prominent, classic IP and it seems odd it hasn’t shown up in the last 15 years. We know why most other absent major franchises haven’t been at the event - who knows what’s going on behind the scenes?

Speaking of complicated rights issues, it’s about time Freddy returned to the event.

I agree with the thought, if Hellraiser fell through TCM is an easy fill in. Not desired but easy. With Stranger Things and Sinners and Ozzy they can have a lesser IP.

Clive Barker actually just got the rights back, which is why we're seeing a big proliferation of Hellraiser related things lately.

Taking it at face value, Jack origin house, Bloodengutz, Pumpkin Lord, Lightning Gulch, TCM -- it sounds like a huge nostalgia play. Even Ozzy, I realize he had a long, varied career, but the era that created music suitable to a haunt is mostly from when he was a Gen X/first wave Millennial icon. Other than Fortnite and ST (which seems a gamble after the final season), not a lot targeting the under 30 crowd.

My personal spec is with Gen Z not drinking, they need the old farts back to buy all the $12 beers and blinky cups.

ETA: fwiw, February 2025 map had 8.5 out of 10 house concepts (we can debate how accurate "Afterlife: City of Spirits" was), May 2025 map was 10/10. March 2024 map was cryptic but fairly could be said to have 5 out of 10 houses. Ironically the April 2024 map dropped down to just 3 accurate houses.

Better watch who you are calling an old fart, young one. Further, business-wise, it would be good for Uni to remember (which I know they do) the age groups have the most disposable income.. and it isn't the under 30 crowd.

The under drinking-age group doesn't drive food & beverage sales, but they are showing up in force. They also like to spend money on a shirt or hoodie to prove they visited HHN. Sure as hell they're the ones liking all of the Terrifier TikTok videos last year.

Perfectly fine for the event to cater all types of groups, not just one, but I do wish the event was a bit more serious with a chaperone policy though. There's a few nights that felt like a high school block party.

Guests who don't drink still have to eat... and they like social media-friendly snacks.

Is it, though?

I was under the impression that Vector packaged the dramatic performance rights along with the film/TV rights A24 won in the bidding war late last year.
