Otherwise, it makes zero sense. Mike Aiello's well aware of what people thought of the crowd FNAF brought. I can't see any scenario, during an anniversary year no less, that he signs off on Fortnite as an amazing idea.

Not to mention, what does a Fortnite scare zone bring? Nothing. It's like Dead by Daylight. It's largely known for their licensing deals. If Universal wanted a scare zone that was a mishmash of horror IPs, they could create their own. They'd have to go clear rights for all the properties anyways......

And more to the point for spec purposes, when has Universal EVER announced a scare zone before announcing at least one house? They haven't. Do we really think they're kicking off the hype train with "Hey, we're going to theme part of a street after Fortnite"?

Who is said "people"? By most accounts, FNAF was very well received at the event. The house wasn't very scary, but that's not unheard of at the event with stuff like Fallout and Ghostbusters. There was a lot of dooming beforehand that it would bring in a bunch of kids, but that never actually happened.

I'm saying I think people are reading way too much into it.

Especially the HHN Wiki admins (and others) who are linking the rumor to the pending Saturday announcement. More so since it seems they combined Legacy's vague remark with wild speculation from a few different Discords.

Personal speculation, re: Fortnitemares.

I feel like if Universal somehow snagged licensing to one of the biggest brands in pop culture entertainment for a meaningful and notable form of representation, during the 15th, 20th, and 35th anniversary of the three separate HHN's (It's not just Hollywood with the 20th, and Orlando with the 35th--but Singapore's one year shy of a Sweet 16), that if you got the agreement--it'd be for far more than just a scarezone for *just* Orlando.

I could see Orlando do a package deal with both a House + Scarezone, with then Hollywood and Singapore having a "Headliner" House be how you pivot and market. If you got the deals signed with Epic, I think you'd go all out especially considering the circumstances.

Also helps that Epic's surveys recently has had Chucky for Sidekicks--so it does seem like there is interest on one end for having a Universal collab. And with how WB and Disney both have game modes and experiences in development...it's actually not that far off to see Universal throwing their hat into the ring on something notable with Fortnite.

Could this be fake? Possibly--honestly it verges on the border of complete stupidity and insanity that somehow loops it back to having sense. We've kind of passed the barrier of "What IP makes sense" with The Weeknd, Fallout, and FNAF to where nothing feels off limits. Either way, it's an immensely fun rumor.

Trying to actually figure out what it could be, and this jumps out to me:



Keeping this in mind, there's 3 big IPs that immediately jump out to me that a) have something big coming this weekend, and b) definitely get some backlash/too good of an insane fan reaction for Legacy to get his chaos fill!

1) Fortnite - The new season begins this Thursday, and is very much leaning into being a nostalgia season with the Ice King and the Foundation. Of course, this would be possibly the most insane, out-there announcement in HHN's history, but love it or hate it, be arguably the biggest in history for GP. At the same time, however, this doesn't make much sense logistically considering Disney's ever-growing partnership with Epic and Fortnite specifically. Bringing us to the other two options...

2) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Arguably the most well-known and popular anime out there besides One Piece, with the long-awaited Steel Ball Run adaptation beginning this Thursday. Of the three options I propose, this would make the most sense to me, Part 1 alone could make for a fantastic house and/or zone, and since we don't have Fan Fest with One Piece, this could be a great way to introduce anime into the parks.

3) The Amazing Digital Circus - The popular indie animated series that's been a big merch-seller and even co-streams its YouTube premieres (and co-releases its episodes) on Netflix, with the penultimate episode releasing this Friday. It's a great psychological thriller inspired by I Have No Mouth and Must Scream, and from the latest teasers, it's looking like this next episode is gonna crank things up from 0-100 in the horror category real quick.
