I could see a walk-through that prioritizes effects and automated figures versus live performers. Perhaps a crypt that promises to reveal ghosts of the past, giving us an opportunity to glimpse the "original" versions of various Dark Universe monsters (and maybe even some more niche cameos). Think more Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island versus House of Horrors.

My only fear with something like that is the cost and time invested into constructing that attraction, and whether they would be willing to demo it when it comes time to expand.

I mean, I think it could be pretty easily future proofed by tucking it away. It theoretically wouldn't require a large footprint, and a lack of ride system alone would make it exponentially cheaper than many other expansion ideas.

The park could use more B-ticket attractions that give people things to do when ride queues are long. Nintendo has its mini games (and interior walk-throughs), and Potter has its spell windows. Both Berk and Dark Universe have ample character interactions and street entertainment, but Berk also offers its Viking Training Camp play area, leaving DU as the only portaled area without an additional "something to do."

Yeah, something like a blend between the Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough and Pirate's Lair would be great.

Not only that, but have it offer a tease of the monsters on Unchained, almost like a prep for families with kids scared to ride. The walkthrough sets the tone and a glimpse at what you're gonna run into, as a final sort of "ready to face your fears?".

I love the idea of having an immersive walkthrough attraction at Epic, especially with the characters from Dark Universe.

However, I think it’s more realistic that they would do that for something like Potter instead. I sort of imagine it like Poseidon’s Fury, but with updated technology and it’s about wizards fighting instead of the gods.

Was thinking of something like this:
1772634013800.png

I think DU's issue is that it has very little to do compared to the other lands. There's really only 2 shops, one of them being an exit gift shop. DU is also beautiful at night and I'd love to see it Diagon-esque experience with a side side in perpetual nighttime.

By doing an expansion like the one above, Universal can add an additional shop and snack stand, and an immersive walkthrough experience. Along with an indoor alternative for the monsters to roam around when it's raining outside.

They should just port the D&D Fan Fest experience.

Or build a six story warehouse for @Clive and I sicko needs.

What's currently at that spot? I tried checking Google Maps but it looks like it was still under construction at the time they took the photos.

Nothing but grass and a few trees- clearly marked for some sort of small expansion later on.

I'm am all for fleshing out the world. I think that can coincide with more immediate and short term solution(s) which I'm proposing to add capacity and add to the 'things to do' list.

No idea how practical this is (i.e. what back of house stuff is currently positioned here), but I'm very into the idea in principle.

That's the key... there is nothing back there. It's a literal greenfield. There's a BoH pathway to connect the current DU village and a small pad reserved for service animals that can be relocated.

I wouldn't open to another exit, but overall, I do like the idea as well!

2) There are rumors of the Celestial Goodnight nighttime show. Hopefully we get this in 2026.

3) Let's get a parade going asap.
4) and 5) Build two flat rides in Celestial Park.

8) Expand the Toothless Meet and Greet. As it stands, it's often a 60+ minute wait to meet Toothless. Imagine how long this is going to be when they increase park capacity. Adding another Toothless would double the throughput of this attraction. And for heaven's sake, make it indoor or at least fully shaded.

These are the ideas I most like with #8 being the one that sticks out to me most.

I was genuinely surprised on my first visit that there was only one Toothless. I genuinely figured the paddock setting would be utilized to have more than one M&G room with two Toothless animatronics. I will admit that having him out in the open to see by all is nice for those who are not willing to wait, but really stinks from a line perspective.

Heck, I posted this over a year ago. If they just read this thread they could have built it by now! :lmao:
DrStarlander said:
From the reviews coming in for Dark Universe, it sounds like the land is feeling "too small" for some. Many in this thread have noted the demand for this theme/land probably exceeds the scale it was built.

I know that many people do not like jump scares, but for many others, jump scares are exactly what they want out of their "horror" entertainment. So one idea to relatively quickly add some incremental attraction capacity to Dark Universe (and the park in general) would be to add a walk-through experience in Dark Universe -- something on the scale of Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through or the tunnels at Tom Sawyer's Island. This dark, claustrophobic walkthrough (into a mausoleum and through catacombs filled with mummified cadavers) could be tucked into the location highlighted here and include mechanical and sensory jump scares, satisfying that craving.

Hey, just because your idea was more fleshed out than mine and came with a neat graphic and happened to be posted nearly a year before mine doesn't mean it's better than mine!

I mean, everything seems to indicate that, but still!

Well, @UniversalRBLX 's graphic puts my squiggle to shame so I'm not feeling particularly smug. But great minds do think alike, which we fans are proving over and over! :nervous:
