I will say if you leave near Disneyland these are REALLY good tickets. Less then 100 bucks for two parks is a great deal thats over 70 attractions

Yes. A number of years ago I read an analysis on WDW attendance. Basically, it said what you said. Their profit is often
higher with less attendance and a reduced staffing. It spoke to the fact that the basic attendance tourists have a much higher
per spend than when the park is flooded with one day locals and CM's and their guests/families. Bottom line was that the
profit sweet spot does not necessarily co relate with higher attendance.

Honestly, after spending what I did on my last Disney trip, I decided I wouldn't be going back because the lines and crowds were insane and it just wasn't enjoyable. If I could spend what I did and have limited crowds, I'd at least consider it.

They have already hinted at this model with single ride LL and honestly, as much as I hate it, I find myself buying into the pay to pass the line model. For my family its already over $1,500 per day of Disney vacation when you take into account food and lodging. If you told me for a mere 20% more wait times would be under an hour for everything (honestly I do enjoy a 30 minute que experience in the modern ques), I'd sign up for that model and not think twice.

The crux of the issue is that while the parks can theoretically handle X people, the optimal park experience is at 60% of X. So you either get there via a reservation system, or price increase. Price increase fattens the bottom line, so that's what they'll do.

...or go back to the day when the parks would add high-capacity in-demand attractions ana additional dining/shopping experiences. Flight of Passage only gets significant waits due to the fact that it's one of 3 major attractions available for the whole family that's not a thrill ride or water ride.

Even on the busiest days, Magic Kingdom is still an enjoyable park to be in with the number of readily available theater shows and high-capacity attractions.

I'm all for the annual price increase, but that can't be combined with a reduction in entertainment offerings, shorter park hours, etc.

Sounds to me like this is telegraphing very soft demand for summer at WDW. The continued drop in International & Canadian visitors, pricing, and summer heat seems to be eroding the once busy summer season.

Sounds to me like this is telegraphing very soft demand for summer at WDW. The continued drop in International & Canadian visitors, pricing, and summer heat seems to be eroding the once busy summer season.

I think it's more summer heat + more vacations during the school year for trips has made the summer quieter.

At some point this is an issue the parks are going to have to meaningfully address. You can't just allow external factors to kill off the traditional summer tourism season and its corresponding revenue.

On a practical level, accounting for humidity, Florida can be as hot as Dubai during the same periods and is only getting hotter. Yet somehow, proper heat management is only ever a consideration at the UAE or Saudi Arabian parks.

I know its a different park, but Disneyland Mondays and Tuesdays are now busier then weekends because the tickets are cheaper and people assume they will less busy
