With rumors heating up about WDW MK's Space Mountain getting a revamp, I thought I would post my thoughts here as well.
If Disney does finally decide to pull the trigger on a TL redo, I would personally love to see DL's Space Mountain get the Tokyo treatment. The factors I can think of that would go against this playing out would be 1) The Disney purists would rage-quit 2) It might bump the height requirement up a couple of inches 3) It's literally attached to all of the other surrounding structures which would make it kind of complicated. 4) The retrack is about 21 years old now so I think they probably want at least 8 or 9 more years out of it. I don't think space (Haha pun) would be a factor as I did a fairly close but imperfect estimation of the space using Tokyo's new SM comparison to DL's below.

So yeah, as you can see, it would fit.
Despite these factors I mentioned, there were whispers of Disney going "scorched-earth" on TL in the past. They did that for Fantasyland back in the 80's, so this wouldn't be out of the question. If they're going to bring back the People Mover, which I would argue would be the whole point of redoing TL, why not start fresh with Space Mountain to make things less complicated?
I hope they go this route once the time comes to redo TL. Also, as I've mentioned before, DLR is way, way, way, and I mean,
way overdue for a new coaster. This would fit the bill for a more thrilling themed coaster.
