No clue who this is, but it sounds like desperately needed good news for one of, if not the worst operated park in the country.

Literally worked his way up the food chain at the park

I’m sorry, but you need to get to other parks if you’re really gonna give SFMM that statement. In fact, I’d say SFMM has been better than KBF in operations the past 5 years!

Agree... it certainly had a very long, rough period where things were pretty grim (which is what most people remember), but in the last few years, they've really shaped things up, operationally speaking. Is it perfect? No, it still has some hiccups. But nothing like what it was years ago.

There's especially a notable difference in guest relations and staff friendliness.

I think they are improving the park, its not perfect but I've had my pass again for about 18 months and last year compared to 2024 was a HUGE jump up in entertainment at the park and the events have just gotten better, even Fright fest having less was a good thing because then most houses were staffed at a good level and I had some of the best runs of my life in legacy mazes because of it

I think the new Looney tunes Land is a really good thing as well and honestly if the coaster keeps getting delayed, I hope they just take the L on that and replace Justice League in 2027 and give us the coaster in 2028 if need be

But anyway for the most the part they are getting better

I just wish the App let us see wait times, characters came out later most days and we had an event in the spring and at that point for the most part I'm pretty happy with it

Random question, work trip to Vegas/LA early May. I am a very frequent UO visitor and want to check out Hollywood. Was going to do 2 days plus fan fest.
Wondering if it I can get away with 1 Day with Fan Fest and spend the other at either Knott's or SFMM and which is better?

It's going to be a lot easier to go to Magic Mountain if you're staying in the Hollywood / North LA area than it will be to get to Knott's. If you're staying more centrally (godspeed), it's more of a push. Magic Mountain is better for coasters. Knott's is better for vibe, general atmosphere and food. There's also some cool historic rides there, like the Mine Ride and Log Flume, that are worth the visit alone IMO.

Six Flags for Coasters

Knotts has some good coasters as well but much less of them, and is better themed with rides like the Log ride and Calico Mine Ride that are more in line with Disneyland attractions.

I'd look up the websites and look at the attractions and see which seem more in line with what you want to do . Neither parks will have events when you are going, so for Six Flags there are no shows and Knotts will have a few shows but nothing like in Summer, or the holidays

Also Looney Tunes area is being redone, so some or all attractions in that area could be affected when you go

Knotts is drastically better in almost every way. However, SFMM has some of the best coasters in the country as well as the most coasters. So it really depends on what you care about more.

If you go to Knotts, you gotta get Mrs. Knott’s.

Surprised to see Harley Quinn out when it isn't Heroes & Villians Fest!

Also, Crazanity has reopened, and with a new queue for Fastlane. If you have a Membership with Front of Line passes, I was able to get them at the Emporium (though I had to tell the lead that it was possible... but it did work!). And FOL passes as well as Fastlane now included Crazanity and Wonder Woman! Only X2 currently doesn't have any Fastlane access as of right how.

Full Throttle also got a shaded queue path between the main queue and the ramp up to the station.

In terms of customer service, had a surprisingly good op on Teen Titan Turbo Twist, of all things (the Round Up). Ride op pumped everyone up during restraint checks, did a countdown to the ride starting, and announced "Lift Off" just before the ride began to tilt. She was so good, people applauded when the ride was done... for a Round Up! Never see that happen before ever, but she totally deserved it.

Six Flags just added language that makes it seem like you will be able to film with Meta Glasses, if properly secured to your head

I know some don't like any filming but I enjoy seeing POV's from other parks I can't go to, so happy to hear some people besides the handful of selected Vloggers will be able to film Ninja before it leaves the park

I'd much rather these parks take professional video of all their attractions for The Archive and ban filming on rides altogether. And frankly I'd be happy to see those Meta Glasses made illegal. They suck.

If they film them better then Disney did for Disney plus then cool

But The Disney plus POV are not, great. Besides many angles just not being the best to capture what it feels like on ride they also many times filmed when affects weren't working

I don't disagree, but we aren't talking about that? We're talking about roller coasters at Six Flags parks, which don't present the same concerns?

I mean, if they film them with a 360 then cool

But Also I don't get the big deal. If someone has something strapped on the head and it's not affecting your ride. I just don't why people get upset of out side people filming on rides

With a camera in hand, I get it. It can be dangerous but here no idea why anyone would care. It just gets us more POVs....the parks change over time. The time of day and time of year can affect the POV as well

Ninja is great but during sunset its magical, and during the Halloween and Holidays its also different.

I get why people can be upset when someone is filming Pirates front row with the lights on's or talking into a camera but this...affects no one as far as I can tell.
