None of this is speaks to an objective measure.

For example, fallout boy was the 20th most listened to rock band in 2025 according to Spotify monthly listeners.

I'm moving on.

Per Spotify, for all genres…

Fall Out Boy is ranked #183

Bebe Rexha is right below at #186.

I’m not even that big a fan of the lineup, but not saying there isn’t a “good get” is objectively false per your guidelines - there just isn’t a good get for your preferences, and that’s OK!

While I'm glad my Saturday date has music I like, what band is playing has zero input on whether I attend Mardi Gras.
Heck, the band area gets so crowded, I'm not going to sit around for hours holding a sitting spot. I might just listen to
a few songs standing on the periphery and move on.

I vacation for Mardi Gras since its a happy/fun time. We love the atmosphere and ambiance with excellent theme parks
to boot. And the food booths, parade and strolling bands and dancers are sooo cool. Universal with its parks, CityWalk
and the onsite hotels are the perfect setting to enjoy Mardi Gras in a clean, safe family atmosphere.

We're looking forward to two weeks at Universal in early March for a pure FUN time.

This is a reasonable and productive reply. I stand corrected. Much appreciated.

There is no one here that would encourage me to spend the $$$ to attend any of these shows (some of which are repeat performers from previous years). Maybe next year.

Maybe in like 2017.

Seaworld has a much better lineup this year imo

Fall Out Boy was there a DECADE ago when they were a lot bigger, possibly at their height. Now consider that they are still more popular than her on Spotify a decade later after becoming somewhat of a nostalgia act (I’m an HUGE FOB fan btw) and it tells me she’s not a big get.

Honestly, I really don't care.

Y'all can move the goalposts wherever you'd like. It's Mardi Gras, not the SB.

I dunno, y'all. I'm not a concert person and I'm definitely not plugged in or anything, but I was impressed by this lineup!

It is stunning to me what kind of acts get pulled at these Orlando theme parks.

Not moving goal posts any which way. Lineup is just very mediocre and heavy on EDM. Admittedly I don’t like EDM so that is a big hit against it for me. Either way, Sea World has imo a better lineup and I’ll be spending more time there this spring.

As much as I despised riding HRRR at the end, I am going to miss it in the background of these performances.

That’s what I was kinda getting at before…. My fav pop punk bands when I was 20 aren’t around anymore, are problematic, or are at Eat to the Beat lol. New acts for new generations.

I agree about the lineup skewing very EDM, but ultimately, it's all a matter of preference. I’ve even said I’m not big on the lineup either. You’re still talking subjectively, which is OK!

Objectively...

Most artists booked for Mardi Gras, including many past favorites, were not at their commercial peak when they performed. That doesn’t suddenly make them weak bookings. There are exceptions, however. In FOB's case, it was because Stump was helping with the Hulk soundtrack. More recently, they had Marshmello perform.

With that said, Bebe Rexha being labeled “not a big/good get” just isn’t backed up by the data. She is a Top 200 global Spotify artist across all genres and has multiple billion-stream songs, with her most recent in 2023.

None of this is claiming she’s the biggest artist Mardi Gras has ever had. They’ve booked larger acts. But at the scale of a theme park concert, she absolutely qualifies as a headlining act.

Disliking the lineup is fine, but presenting that preference as an objective assessment doesn't work.

(As an aside and as a fellow FOB fan - their peak was 2005–2008 with From Under the Cork Tree and Infinity on High. They had a strong comeback in 2013 with Save Rock and Roll, but 2016 was not their height, but ultimately, that's irrelevant to the point.)

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

I’m going to simply reply to your FOB point but I’m too lazy to edit your post down from my phone -

Yes, their peak was 2005 or 2007 as far as music quality. But as far as being on top of their game commercially and the biggest they had ever been selling venues out? It was right around that time. My Songs Know…., Centuries, Uma Thurman, etc all were stadium anthems and kept them heavily relevant into the mid 2010’s.

I mean, no? They produced a series of (bad) singles that seemed tailored to play as bumpers on ESPN. And uh, that’s what happened! They were absolutely nowhere near as culturally relevant in 2016 as they were in 2008, regardless of how many commercials their songs played in.
