These are PERFECT and exactly what Galaxy’s Edge needs to, for lack of a stronger phrase, liven up the place and make it better!

After much deliberation, Disneyland will officially expand the timeline of Galaxy’s Edge by April 29. This includes:

- Leia, Chewy and Han roaming outside the Falcon and Oga’s
- Luke roaming the land seeking Force knowledge
- Darth Vader replacing Kylo Ren, while Kylo moves to Tomorrowland
- Background music in the land composed by John Williams

Officially, these changes include the era of the Galactic Civil War and New Republic.

Other changes to come will include story updates to Rise of the Resistance, but Disney has not revealed exactly what this means yet.

Also, this is Disneyland exclusive.
———
I’ll be honest, they should just have the periods be “seasonal”. I feel bad for the Kylo Ren character actor being pushed away like this.

I'd have switching this up: DL stays the same while WDW goes full expanded timeline.

All the updates have gone to DL first - likely as they need to pull people back there whereas DHS version is busy regardless.

Lame to relegate Kylo to Tomorrowland. Actors are great and they always draw a crowd.

Maybe its just for the time being and after Vader has been here a little they will switch off every hour

I do agree, people liked Kylo. So lets hope the feedback gets to Disney and we can have both

Finally, Disney uses a little common sense..................Some of these Executives and Creatives, unfortunately, live in their own little
world, and have no idea
what people want...

It would have been hilarious to have Kylo run into Darth Vader and just geek out.

Honestly, getting the John Williams music into Galaxy's Edge is what excites me the most.

Yes. Williams music is one of the major reasons Star Tours at WDW seems more Star Wars than all of GESWL.

That land is just SO... bland...? The music in there does nothing to help it either. At least this will tick another nostalgia box and give people the right "oh, that's where i am - IN Star Wars" feeling as they're walking in. Music has that power to take you there before you're even physically there.

For sure. William's music is one of the keys that make the Universal Potter lands so appealing.. Once you hear a familiar chord, the
memories and imagination soar.

This may be a weird analogy, but these changes harkening back to an original iteration feel like the inverse of Jurassic Park River Adventure being changed to JW over here while Orlando keeps the original JP theming.

Really curious to how this'll pan out. I do agree that Kylo being moved just like that is a bad move though.

A good change overall, I think. The change the Smuggler's Run could be interesting. I do believe that they should have been able to incorporate Kylo near the Resistance base side somehow, or have him in the marketplace area when the other characters aren't there. Moving a popular character out entirely and putting them in the Disney Visa cardholder area is strange.

There is a lot of story to read through here, which some say is part of the reason the land had issues in the first place. All in all though, I don't think anyone will read too much into it and just be happy that some of their favorite characters are in the area finally. That is coming from someone who reads expanded universe novels, and enjoys lore.

Disney finally doing something they should’ve done from the very start: focus mainly on the original trilogy. This is a desperately needed change. Imagine going to Star Wars land and wondering where Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker are? This is common sense.

I’m also hoping the changes to Rise means they will replace all of the sequel characters with the OT. That would be incredible. The ride is great, but what’s holding it back from being perfect is the lack of OT characters.

Rise of the Resistance: Closes January 20.

I think they are updating it...but I doubt Vader will take over for Kylo

Maybe more smaller ways to get OT stuff inside, but I assume more like updating the screens to have someone show up would be the biggest thing....unless they add R2 or something to the attraction somewhere
