Yes, even though the ride system isn't, the ride 'feel' screams Spider-Man.
This is interesting. I totally agree. One of the primary thoughts I had after my first ride-thru, was just how close the big Mummy scene is to Scream swiping at you in Spidey, but this time Scream is a giant robot mummy pulling an Expedition Everest a few feet from my face. That moment felt like a true advancement of the medium.
Adding to that idea - To me, Ministry doesn't feel like Spider-Man, but instead Transformers. Does that make any sense at all? I don't think it does, logically, but if we're talking about feel, then that's what comes up for me.
Ministry doesn't even have half the emotion Flight of Passage has, I think Avatar is a much more rewarding and memorable experience.
I agree. Ministry is too preoccupied trying to hit the Maelstrom-style checklist of "Potter elements we haven't done yet" that it misses the fun of the original rides. Even Gringotts, which I'm not huge on, has the physical thrill moments to elevate it, and I always find myself legitimately
feeling something strong during that slow crawl back to the load station, right when that John Williams score hits. That's an actually great moment of that attraction.
Maybe I just need to ride it again to see, but I haven't felt very much like that during the similarly sluggish return to the load platform of Ministry. I do like the payoff for the Cleaning Robot gag at least.
I love FoP, but i absolutely hate the preshow and as big 3D fan, the projection especially the darker scenes, is distracting.
The 3D on FoP is susceptible to ghosting and other weird visual quirks, especially at the edges of the theatre, which definitely brings down my personal enjoyment of it. And yeah, those preshows are a
slog. The ride is so high-concept and the ops takes so long that they have to spend ages repeating the same thematic info to you over and over, and that guys' performance ... it's grown on me in a campy kinda way, but man is that a rough character to be stuck listening to for like 15 minutes straight haha.
