I agree... but maybe they have something else in the cards for USF? I am 100% in agreement with you on a DCA-style overhaul for the park, but Pokemon is too strong of an IP (and revenue driver) to wait until Simpsons is gone.

Pokemon has probably been in development hell for a while now, maybe they can fast track it to LC and then leave Wicked for Springfield.

Plus you would get a far bigger and better land that just shoehorning it into the Springfield plot

Is there something that has credibly substantiated the claim that the Simpsons contract has been extended? Last I heard, the source of that rumor was Rix Flix of all things.

I don't view him as a credible source

If the event LC becomes something Wicked, here's a ride system that would make you feel like you're "defying gravity":

If it’s a surprise, and there’s been hint for a 2026 addition, or maybe a show before from Alicia if I recall, I wonder if Waterworld is going to replace the whole area. I can’t imagine construction would be long and it can be the same or similar land from Beijing. Hasn’t it been confirmed Waterworld COULD fit here? That would be immediate help for IOA for a stage show and nice late summer bump next year. Just an idea.

Yes… WaterWorld could fit. Awkwardly, but yes.

I still think they should stick Waterworld in the Toon Lagoon amphitheater area. Easily the worst stretch in any Orlando theme park.

It’s arguably the biggest Universal IP rn. I feel I need to go back and quote folks talking about potter being a flash in the pan to prove the point how dumb these comments are.

Agreed, that lone stretch really is the worst. No shade, just an empty amphitheater and some carnival games. It really needs something substantial, period.

Now as for LC and whatnot, I think one thing that is absolutely certain is plans can and will change. There's always a chance something that was planned for USF is put in IOA or Epic instead for one reason or another, it happened before with Jurassic Park, and it happened again with SNW. So it's not out of the norm if something like Pokemon went into IOA.

Yes, I do agree it kinda' sucks for USF to possibly not get a major IP/facelift it needs, but stuff happens. And I think it's also important to point out, it feels like Uni is still chugging along on projects. They could've easily slowed down and twiddled their thumbs after Epic Universe opened, but right now HRRR is getting demo'd for a new attraction, and now we have this permit for IOA. I will happily take this over one or both parks being ignored over the new shiny park.

I realize many would rather USF get something in 2028/2029 instead of IOA. But a largely closed down Lost Continent is
a huge empty hole in the park with only a restaurant and a few insignificant shops/kiosks. IOA is an excellent park, but IOA
feels incomplete since Sindbad and Poseidon's Fury were closed. IOA needs a Lost Continent replacement, preferably indoor
attractions and/or shows. No more outdoor attractions/coasters though. IOA has enough of those.

WaterWorld is WAY bigger than the Sinbad venue. If it’s that show it’s taking up everything except Mythos.

My map isn't 100% accurate just representative, I didn't adjust/scale it correctly when I did it a few months ago.

However, the current Water World plot at USH does in fact fit between Hogsmeade Station and the access road.

USF could still get something in the 2029 timeframe if they stagger things right. Once the new coaster wraps construction you could hit the ground running on USF's next addition.

Man, you guys are making it seem like Pokemon is going here for sure and I don't think I like the prospect of that. This is a monster of an IP and deserves way more than 5-6 acres to be done right. LC also leaves zero expansion room anywhere around it.

The people who want it to get a large scale, ground up dark ride on par with or better than Pets over at USH.

Patience is a virtual they say. Food for thought, what if the light slate for USF now is because Universal might be planning a massive reboot for the 40th anniversary in the early 2030's ?

i imagine they’re just being cautious and trying to spread out their capital expenditure as smartly as possible. that makes a lot of sense, and i’m not demanding they fix everything all at once. but i’m not going to pretend i think the park is great in the meantime because, imo, it is not.
