Seems like SoCal is seeing a general decline in park attendance? Knotts cancelled Wednesday nights for Scary Farm.

Could of course be a way to reduce cost in order to reduce the burden of increased tariffs?

From such a large local AP base, I'm surprised they're not keeping the midnight closing while moving the opening later in the day.

I rather them close at 11 then open at 9 am

Traffic is almost zero getting to Disneyland early but add an hour and you can hit some traffic then

I mean I hope parks pivot and try to get more APs

Disney won’t lower prices but knotts AP/six flags AP is dirt cheap
USH lower passes are a good value and even USH best pass is worth it if you use the free HHN ticket and go after 3 pm a lot (express)

But Disney I think needs to just let MKs be sold for the next year with no pauses

I’ll note as of now I have almost no trouble getting a reservation into the them park and last year for sure there were some dates sold out for MKs but we also don’t know if that’s because demand or of Disney added more MK reservations since this year is lighter

the crowd levels at disneyland are very tolerable right now. still lots of international tourists, so we’ll see what things look like when:

a) summer actually ends
b) lower tier magic keys have more availability

the fall, particularly halloween, has been very crowded for more than a decade now. i’ll be interested to see how the rest of the year goes.

i haven’t stayed until midnight at disneyland in years, so the earlier closing doesn’t impact me. i’d have to go back and look at older calendars, but i don’t recall the park being open until midnight on weekdays in september or october in the past. i definitely worked closing disneyland shifts that got off at 830 during the slow season.

Looking at past calendars, back in 2019 they were closing DL at 11PM on Weekdays, Midnight on Weekends in October.

Historically it's rare for them to not have 12AM closures on Fri/Sat, so this is definitely something to keep an eye on. MK started rolling back it's hours in 2018-19 and hasn't looked back since with very little, if any, midnight closures now.

From what I heard its been a few years

Not a great sign with the hotel perks going away, Knotts and Six Flags taking haunt dates away and Sea World giving two....two free days to its haunt events to APs

Disney wasn't too bad this summer but did have some good days it will be interesting to see how this haunt season goes, I went Saturday and was not busy but the weather sucked it was hot and humid but if the heat goes down and no one shows up...then we have some issues

Signs all around that national theme park and amusement park attendance has had some prominent slippage since 2017 peaks. The market has probably finally reached their over price ceiling, and the teen demographic has been declining with the drop in birth rates. And seasonal patterns are upside down from what they used to be. Fall is now probably stronger than summer for Universal & Disney, especially if the Horror and Halloween
nights special ticket attendance would be factored in as additional to the full day attendance for both companies.
