I don’t really care for the movies, but it’s cool to see an indie franchise get the HHN treatment, I feel like we haven’t seen that before. I’m not sure how well these movies will translate to a haunt exactly, but the emphasis on water effects makes me hopeful they make a lot of creative choices instead of room after room of victim aftermaths and Art popping out.

We essentially have two big Indie franchises headlining this year between Terrifier and FNaF! Very cool to see at what is basically the biggest live Horror event around.

The films aren't for me; and I remember arguing against their inclusion back in 2020. But as the sequels have come out and built up a pretty undeniably huge fanbase, as well as a lot more of a purpose for the franchise outside of pure shockbait with Art's fun, cartoony energy, I think the property has more than earned it's spot as a headline house.

I really did not care for the first Terrifier but will catch up on the sequels before HHN, especially if the hosue is going for a "best of kills" approach. As it stands, definitely #10 on my anticipation list.

Honestly, I feel confident that watching the Kill Count video on 2 and 3 will give an equivalent, if not better experience for the IP if you are not a fan, like myself.

Like others have said, I think this house could easily fall into the trap of every room being a kill vignette or a kill that already happened, with an Art scare actor dancing around.

I don't know if there's much in the way of possible sets since I haven't watched the sequels - is there anything particular interesting with that?

Terrifier 2 has the funhouse at the end, which the description implies will be the main setting for the house, and is a good, disgusting, creepy setpiece for the final act of 2. Terrifier 3 also has the bar, dorms and Christmas house where the final battle happens.

In no known universe has the event been “kid friendly.”

Also, FNaF is one of if not the most “kid friendly” IP the event has ever had (and it’s fine that it’s coming.)

The FNAF games always really abstract and obscure the violence, you hear about bad things happening and bad things are implied to happen to you, but you never actually see anything too grisly except in 8-bit cutscenes. The movie is even less grisly. But if we're competing for most kid-friendly ever, it was probably either Ghostbusters or Beetlejuice.

Agreed, it's weird when folks are trying to push the "kid-friendly" narrative during years where we've had babies getting eaten (Monstruous), and the year before we had a baby getting torn apart (Yeti: Campground Kills) amongst other things.

And adding to the irony, I remember back in 2019 folks were having this kind of conversation due to Ghostbusters and KKfOS being on the lineup...and that was a year which had a metric ton of dead kids in Graveyard Games, House of 1000 Corpses, Nightingales: Blood Pit, the list goes on. And it should absolutely be noted that people look back very fondly on 2019.

lol I agree with you, it’s never been kid friendly. But every year I see ppl complain that it’s getting moreso. My comment was in jest. Like Some of the houses have had kills that are prob worse than terrifier movies. So it’s interesting to see this be so divisive

It's all how it's portrayed. We had a sawed body last year, and no one batted an eye, but if you show how it's done... that changes the effect. It's not the blood per se, it's the brutality.

Hopefully a decent chunk of the house is tight hallways taken from the Terrifer funhouse scenes - they did reference “claustrophobic corridors” in the PR so seems plausible

Well, interestingly, the actual haunted house scenes from the second movie were filmed in The Fright Factory haunted house in Philly, relatively unaltered. So kind of a weird meta moment if they decide to do their usual due diligence in recreating the movie scenic...as they will just in turn be building a replica of an existing and operating haunted attraction, haha
