I've never understood the desire for a Godzilla simulator. And I think the enormous scale of the character is almost unworkable in any format.

Wrong. Godzilla needs way more theme park representation. The FF ride would need to be changed a bit, but some simulator and then AAs would be fine.

I can't imagine anyone ever creating an AA big enough for Godzilla.

Godzilla’s size has varied wildly across his entire history. As long as he acts like Godzilla is supposed to act I’m sure Universal can pick whatever size they feel would work. As for physical representation we would never need to see him all at once. One physical scene we’re up in a building and see him glare at us through a window, maybe another where we’re at street level and just see his feet and maybe a bus falls down that he just destroyed (BOC reference), etc.

If size is a concern, they could always go with the much smaller, and more nightmare-inducing, Son of Godzilla.

I came here to say what you said.

Also, yes, he is typically bigger than Kong, but I don’t think there would be any complaints if there was a Kong-sized animatronic of his upper half.

I think Toho has been pretty tight with his theme park rights in non-Asian theme parks. I remember hearing that Disney approached them in the 80s/90s with an idea involving Godzilla in the Japan Pavilion in Epcot, although that could be hearsay.

What is this?
I'm having a meet and greet with Godzilla!
But what is it?
I'm standing in front of his toe.

I just don't see this working when Universal actually has a Japanese ip in Nintendo and Pokemon so if they plan a Japanese land it would have this.

But way on topic now:
I am excited if a F&F coaster will come. I said it before, Universal did put you in a Delorian, on a bike and on a motor so now they put you in the F&F cars and that is a huge win. I hate the ip but I imagine it's called The Cannonball Run.

Haha, but I think Smokey and the Bandit would be better. All the coaster cars could look like a '79 black Trans Am.

Hey everyone,

Sorry to ask, but whatever the new ride is that replaces it, how quickly do you think Universal will get it open?

Early 2027?

I'm not expecting anything before mid-2027 at the earliest.

Do you think it will increase other ride times at Universal Studios when it closes, or that it won’t be especially missed?

I'm sure there will be a little bump, but nothing major. It was able to weather the loss of Twister and Disaster simultaneously.
