So, hate to diverge from the duplicating houses talk, but what is everyone’s thoughts on blinky cups? Coming back or dead and gone?

Hoping they’re back, but probably not?

I’m surprised they never released a statement on that lol

They need a third option for frequent tickets - out of town guests staying onsite. Give me the equivalent of ROF+EP only for the days I’m in town that’s reasonably priced but much less than the equivalent number of single days tickets + EP.

Yup. Space Mountain is another example. Plus the many rides that had either multiple preshow rooms or multiple theaters - it’s the same concept as what is being suggested. Have one queue that splits up at the end of the line and you could be randomly pointed to one or the other copy of the house. Rotate the casts between the two houses and it’s a workable solution in theory.

I assume everyone's theoretical "crowding solution" with FFP is the one that most favors their visiting style, but in that self-serving vein I really wouldn't mind if the current FFP model was replaced by a "X nights ticket" where you can pick and choose your nights to visit throughout the season (with a reservation system if necessary). So instead of ROF/FFP/FFP+/UFFP it would be, at similar price points, more like 3 nights/5 nights/7 nights/Every Night (very, very expensive) to be used whenever you want throughout the event

This is something I've pushed for quite awhile now! Simply sell tickets as they do for normal park hours - 1 day/2 day/3 day/FFP. Option to add express for all except FFP.

As far as alleviating choke points and congestion, I am all for moving a house portal back down into Dreamworks. Although this wasn't quite as much of an issue last year with one of the tent portals being in Springfield.

If they ever happen to use the old parade building again, I've always thought an entrance next to Cafe La Bamba would be okay for that.

Ditching the blinky cups would be silly. As much it is to buy and fill thosie things? no way.

What they could do is move a few houses or scarezones over to IOA and open up some of the rides there. Then the crowds would be split across 2 parks and have more rides available to spread things out. Double the size, double the fear. :p

(Kidding! For the uninitiated: they’ve done this before and haven’t since.)

Really though, I think it comes down to creating more entertainment options. A good start is bringing the lagoon show back which is presently rumored. If they can add one more show I think it’d make a notable difference; I’m still a fan of the idea about a special edition of the Horror Make-Up Show during the event. Obviously this year is going to be a bit different with HRRR’s closure but once the new ride is online we’ll hopefully see some queue congestion relief.

Agree - I think they could get away with putting a house entrance there, far walk but it's the same walking length as it was before.

In a blue sky world, whenever they decide to replace the two older sprung tents, I prefer for them to add 1 adjacent to the newer versions, and one behind Trollercoaster/parade building. That way you can have a house entrance at Cafe La Bamba, 1 or 2 at Imagination Celebration, and the remaining over by MIB. Back to how it was before and reduces the need for that walk around MIB.

The more guests you can physically move away from Fear Factor and New York, the better.

The walk from La Bamba to the old parade building is actually shorter than the walk around MIB to the tents!

Of course, there's still the possibility that eventually we could get a house at Villain Con in the future. Which would help a lot!

I’m guessing there talking about the battery issue last yea? But to me that only happened last year after years of blinky cups. Sure they can just change it back to how it was before. (Assuming they changed the battery or design as like I said they never had this issue in years)

Yeah my hope is that they just end up with a new design/supplier.

Yeah I would imagine they have a solution. Blinky cups are part of HHN lol. You can’t just get rid of them after years of them.

Lagoon show fell off the most recent spec map, no? I read somewhere that it wasn't viable anymore since rain and hurricanes have gotten worse the last few years. I definitely agree that more shows would do a lot, though.

Opposite. It got added to the most recent one. Probably with a truss showing up next to the lagoon entrance right where ghoulish sigh was.

Besides some practicality issues that have been pointed out, if we have a 10-house line-up with 1 double-up, we have a 9-house line-up because you're giving up space in an SS. MIB Tent is no longer an option, and VillainCon would still cause congestion at the front of the park while also providing a smaller venue for a house.

The other argument is, "What gets deemed the headliner?" I can make a case for Fallout, Jason, *redacted*, and Five Nights.

Insidious seemed to have been the busiest house last year, and no one would have deemed it the headliner over GB or Quiet Place before the event started. If we had doubled the GB, it would have been a waste of resources.

The more practical idea is to diversify the line-up and spread the offerings out across the park.

And I’m pretty sure they’ve been running shows during other events / regular days. So I think it’s all operational. But someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

Not the first time they've cut a "traditional offering" from HHN... Bill and Ted, Jello Shot nurses, etc.

Not saying they're cutting them, but maybe they realized they could still sell a similar amount of cheaper non-blinky cups to drive profits up a bit?

Like I said in my original post, only an IP at the caliber of Stranger Things would justify such an idea. This year is a well rounded lineup of IP popularity... so I wouldn't use such a scenario this year.

Spreading the event itself physically is still the top solution to reducing congestion in some areas and additional entertainment. This year is a balanced year (lineup wise) when it comes to IP popularity, and we should see more balanced wait-times. But for future years where there's 1 "top dog" IP like HHN 29 or HHN 32, I think it makes sense.

Ultimately, I don't think its an awful idea to have 1 IP house that people can easily experience thanks to increased capacity. Would help improve the idea that HHN is a great value and lessen the negativity that comes from some of the longer wait-times.

The only thing they have to duplicate is the amount of places that sell pizza fries. If they ever get rid of pizza fries, we riot at dawn.
