Disney did say at D23, for whatever that's worth, that everything they announced for WDW would be open "within the next five years."

So as of last summer, the intention was to have Villains open by 2029/2030.

Disney can build fast too, and there is a lot of workers available to make these projects happen now that Epic is done construction.

What are we thinking? An E-Ticket and a big show of some kind? That, plus some dining options (themed bar! themed bar! themed bar!) would make a killer addition to Magic Kingdom.

Personally, I think we need an E-ticket dark ride, a D-ticket rollercoaster, a flat, and if we're lucky, a port/expanded version of the Unhappily Ever After show.

A large scale dark ride and a coaster are obviously guaranteed. I'm more interested as to what ride system they will go with for the E ticket dark ride. To me I think it's down to a trackless ride or the Infinity Defense ride system.

They did promise two E-tickets, so I'm hoping it's a fixed objective. A moderate thrill coaster and either the POTC Shanghai Ride System or some sort of inverted dark ride system. The likely scenario though is a the Avengers/Peter Pan Tokyo ride system.

We'll definitely get a M&G pavilion, and I'm hoping the DHS show is ported at a larger scale.

Surprisingly, I think the biggest benefit this project will have is having two locations for fireworks at the Magic Kingdom if they do something like Disneyland.

I think they're going to avoid trackless and lean toward either the Avengers ride or (ideally) Shanghai's POTC system.

If thats the case I would vastly prefer the Avengers ride system. The Shanghai POTC ride system should be reserved for DHS as that park needs a water ride badly.

The plan for Villains land was always to have 2 major attractions. A "Disney thrill coaster", and a dark ride that doesn't require a height limit. So that would nix the SCOOP ride system idea. Definitely not going to be a boat ride though... Disney still has their eyes set on that Adventureland expansion plot for their new boat ride ;)

To me that means it would likely be something trackless. If Disney wants to bring the TDS Pan/Infinity Defense ride system to WDW they can do it with an incredibles attraction when they revamp Tomorrowland.

I am of the belief that Moana might have moved to DHS for the long sought after AC replacement.

Certainly could be trackless, it could also be similar to what they're building for Encanto, which is a newer generation of the Figment ride system, where they can pivot the cars in any direction, plus it could help with capacity, depending on how many cars they have per train.

Wow, lol I was thinking the same thing for the TDS Pan ride system, it would fit perfect with the Incredibles IP.
And hmm, it wouldn't shock me to hear that plans changed, but I'd be disappointed if they just make Animation Courtyard get replaced by a single-IP land... although the park desperately needs a water ride.

I feel like trackless is a bit played out across the industry as a whole. All the tricks have been done and outside of being able to send multiple vehicles into an environment there’s not really any benefits over a bus bar RV.

They could frankly stand to come up with something new (then pitch it for Abu Dhabi and have Miral pick up half the development tab!)

Yeah, I'm not convinced there's more to do with trackless at this moment in time. With all the maintenance and reliability issues, the juice may not be worth the squeeze.

I'm anticipating a SCOOP-adjacent (i.e. Fantasy Springs Peter Pan) dark ride and a launched coaster on the scale of Slinky Dog or Hiccup's Wing Gliders, plus food/beverage and stores. If we get a flat and/or a modest theater attraction (Unhappily Ever After), that's all gravy.
