With the new facial ticket scanners being used now I noticed many flaws already:

The scanners picking up the wrong faces, especially if you’re standing too far forward and the guest behind you gets scanned.

Kids not being tall enough to reach the scanners and parents have to hold the kid up so their face reaches the camera. HOW did they not account for this?

Also people not knowing they have to scan the ticket themselves. The CM doesn’t scan your ticket anymore.

Could already see many frustrated CMs. Time will tell I guess.

Yeah, I really don't get why they didn't just do the same kinda system at USO.....its like Disney refuses to ever be cutting edge with security and entry points

WDW has been ahead of the curve for years now it’s Disneyland that’s trying to catch up.

Honestly amazing how different the parks are run on the opposite coasts. Even UOR vs USH.

The funniest thing I still see at DLR is them still trying to sell magic bands lol

You have the option to retake the picture, so not an issue. And why are mom and dad using the kids' face instead of their own? Thats just weird

Its not even catching up because this tech is worst then the tech at WDW years ago

Like I think Disneyland for the most part is run well but the security and entrances its like another team is running them and just they love doing things the worst ways possible

Like Six Flags has more advanced tech then Disneyland for security? Just wild, I know last spring some kids snuck in things they were not suppose to for Grad night you think that would be the wake up call that going throw bags is going to make you miss soooooo many things over just having people walk through scanners or at the very least scanning peoples bags

What’s weird? The kid needs their own picture for their own ticket… They can’t take that picture because the camera is too high up. The parents have to lift the kid up

For some reason I thought it was referring to the scanners for the lockers.

It really seems like DCA needs a themed coaster. Incredicoaster is not really a themed coaster, by Disney standards, and it's the only real coaster at the park (ignoring Goofy's). Watching some Fresh Baked video showing the Grizzly Peak area, David mentioned how underrated the area is. I agree, it's really cool. But is it using the acreage well enough, especially for an already space-constrained park?

It got me thinking maybe they could drop a themed coaster, using the swinging gondola system of Seven Dwarfs (which is not at DLR) right on top of Grizzle River Run -- for two attractions in one area. The track would be elevated above the topography by a mine trestle, which would be historic and look cool. Maybe there's an indoor scene or two.

It could have some story appropriate to Grizzly Peak. (I've been reading the incredibly detailed backstory for Expedition Everest in Jim Korkis' "Kungaloosh!" book, wow.) Maybe the queue is in a ranger station and we come to understand that a Grizzly bear cub has gone lost from its mother, so we go looking for it using the old Grizzly Peak Mine Co. tracks. While riding the attraction we'd be on the lookout for the bear cub. Unique to this attraction, the animatronic of the bear cub would be designed so Disney could move the bear among several different locations in the attraction, so it may be in a different place than the last time you rode (a little light interactivity/gamification).

I'm not sure how practical this is (how much space is there, really, to accommodate all the necessary track, clearances, maintenance areas, queue, load, etc. - plus, can the "mountain" structure sustain the additional weight without heavy and expensive modifications?), but I love this idea in concept.

My other pitch for improving/expanding on the lovely Grizzly Peak area is to just build a new Country Bear Playhouse. They've already developed a well received, Disneyfied version of the show that would likely play well with families... plus, the bears tend to move merchandise with APs.

I'm very much down to redo the Grizzly peak ride into a coaster

They would have to rework things but they have space with the extra path behind the current Q

But would love a mine ride over the water ride that people only ride when its hot and goes down for two month every year

A lot of the Disney fandom is pining for DLR to get a family coaster on par with Slinky Dog Dash. At this point the only place where to put it would be either the Simba lot if they can work around the noise restrictions or the Stitch parking lot.

Why? Slink Dog Dash is probably the most boring coaster on the property. I actually enjoy the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train more than the forceless ride that is Slinky!

But I agree that what DCA needs the most is a well-themed family coaster. Something like Hagrid’s or Grizzly at Hong Kong Disney. Heck if they clone Monsters In over here (Which we were originally supposed to get!) I’ll take it!

I agree with you as an adult....but, Slinky is like the Holy Grail to the kids. They absolutely love it and will stand in line forever to ride it again....and again.....and again. I spent too many hours, on too many days, in the hot Florida sun with two grandkids, 10 &11, to ever say Slinky is boring to kids.

I don’t disagree with you. It’s good for the kids. The thing is with how much space WDW can work with over there, Slinky Dog works great for that park. The thing is, DLR doesn’t have that luxury. A coaster that kids can enjoy but also be enjoyable for adults would be strongly preferable for DCA.

I think adults like Slinky too, from what I've seen....But, most of the extreme thrill coaster fans would turn their nose up at it. ;) Thus, I see your point.

Some WDWMagic posters were hoping the door coaster ride system would make its way over to DLR. Maybe they could fit a modified version of that in the Simba lot when the time comes
