VQ slots start opening up as early as 15 minutes prior to the first drop.

This is our only preview day, any idea about outside of the first drop? We’ve checked throughout the day and haven’t been able to find anything

It can happen randomly. Otherwise, the only other "set" drops are 3, and 6.

+ to add, the drops are not exactly released at that specific time, they can happen a few mins before or after 3PM & 6PM

Then I guess we’ll just keep checking and try again at/around the 6pm drop and hope for the best? We’ll see

I haven't done it, but lots of tip sites say to stay on the selection screen and "refresh" by adding an extra person in your party, and then removing (repeat, repeat until a time slot shows). Seems like folks are seeing random slots open even up to a few minutes after release this way?

Again, no luck. It’s very frustrating. This system is awful. I hope they change it.

to universal’s credit, it seems this system is terrible for everyone. we did it folks: equality.

This just a delay. That's all it is. All new Harry Potter rides have delays. When they opened Hogsmeade in 2011, nothing worked!

The Virtual Queue instructional videos for Ministry of Magic I've seen from the bloggers are so stressful. I can't imagine the anxiety when you're there and having to constantly refresh.

Epic drained my phone battery enough as it is and there was no VQ situation that day.

That video is perfect. My new tip is don’t give up. Just cause it says a time is sold out doesn’t mean it is. The error message for too much traffic was turned off after day one so it defaults to saying no more times available, presumably to get people to stop clicking and slow down traffic, but it’s disingenuous. So keep trying for a couple minutes.

Why does it not matter how many people are in your "app party" when you do that? Do you just go to guest services to fix it after?

You should select the correct number of people in your party. I imagine it “does not matter” because the people checking at the attraction will let your whole party in regardless (since it’s an imperfect system).

It still seems to be luck. We kept doing the exact same thing and every drop, scheduled or random if we saw it, we missed out and never got to ride. Tried until it eventually just said there was a no more VQ available and even for a couple minutes after. Needs a lot of ironing out
