I am going Friday with my wife and 3 other friends. We all have our own accounts for the app and each of our passes are linked to our own accounts. How are they telling people to link their tickets? The instructions in the app are useless. I've messed with my wife's app to try to remove her pass so I can scan it into my app but I don't see a way to release it from her account. If they are doing VQ I ideally wanna be set up ahead of time and not worry day of waiting in a guest services line instead of enjoying our day but also don't want to just not try to get a VQ if available.

You would both need to make virtual line reservations separate using your own accounts. The only way to remove credentials from one digital wallet to add to a different one is by calling or visiting guest services.

It sounds like if only one of a two person party was able to make a reservation they were letting both go the other day though, since this wasn’t something we had time to prepare for beforehand.

Also, if they are using virtual queue again when you go, be sure to take a screenshot of your reserved time… cause some folks reported the app “forgetting” their reservations yesterday.

I definitely am not counting on getting on this ride till May 22 at the soonest. No reason to set myself up for disappointment.

I’d have rather the ride just be closed than have had that stress. And we didn’t access any Concierge Kiosks for regular guest services for hours after each drop due to the hour-long queue filled with folks who had issues with the virtual line drops. (We had to wait once and it was an hour. The TMs were killing it though, the app issues certainly weren’t their fault but they were incredible.)

I’m okay with rides being closed. The ticket says it A LOT when checking out and buying them. I get it. But somehow this is worse lol

But hey, who knows, maybe they’ll already be on standby by Thursday for all we know. Or they’ll have fixed many of the error messages or person not in park or starting 3 mins late issues with their virtual queue system by then.

I’m hopeful for a better day then than before no matter what.

(Also it wouldn’t have been such a hard blow if it wasn’t for Monsters Unchained being down 90% of the day too. It’s going to be a touch pill to swallow, even in previews, if guests cannot do at least one of these two new dark ride experiences.)

You have to test, and that includes with guests. Just run the tests and things will get better. It's previews and T&A for a reason. It's chicken & the egg at this point

Incredibly convenient timing for them to get rid of the UOAP FB group, huh?

Universal could give that group $1000 each, and they'd complain it wasn't $1001.

I just wasn't sure we were talking about the virtual line and I do wonder if it better to have no one ride verses random chance verses queue for as long as folks are willing to wait.

I have no idea on what capacity they are at. I was at the park yesterday and did try for the VL thing. After all the noise around linking tickets and everything, when the option for VL popped up, we could get a time slot, were asked how many (did not seem tied to linked or anything) then it would go off to think about it just to come back and say something would wrong should it try again, sure we would say just to learn there were no time slots left -- at the same time, I can't imagine queueing up for 7 hours just to learn they didn't have the capacity that day (by the end of the night, Stardust had one side running and the queue seemed to close around 9 PM due to already being at capacity for the night -- tough to know at what time they would need to call capacity on a ride that cannot offer a ride to most that come through the gate.

In my eyes, the only advantage to the VL is that they can offer slots as the day goes on, as they (hopefully) have a better idea on how the day is going.

Oh well, I am glad I do not have to make choices like that. I mean, let everyone queue up but if the park day is 7 hours and the queue can hold 7 hours....chance letting people see nothing, let no one see the new ride, control how many get an opportunity to see the new ride. I do not see any good options.

Anyway, based on talking to folks, I know of many instances of folks not seeing the 'one ride' they were most excited to see (even b4 ministry came into the picture) that folks are being disappointed during previews, I have a couple of single attraction passes that were handed out after being cleared from a show or queue were a lot of time was invested but the attraction was down.

I do hope people are able to get there $$ worth. I only invested time when I went. I had disappointment as well as a number of great experiences. I was extremely fortunate in being able to visit multiple times which certainly allowed me to see more as on any one day, I would not have done as much as I set out to accomplish.

I wonder what percentage of people get a virtual queue slot but never make it to the attraction on time. It's not like that suddenly frees up capacity, right? It's like people who panic buy something and then never use it causing an artificial shortage…does the same thing happen with VQ?

That’s why multiple drops is good, if ride running well and line not backed up currently, you can drop more the next time.

I know Alicia already touch on this but yesterday you didn't need to have everyone in your party linked to your account to get the Lightning Lane. When it would appear it would just ask you how many people are in your party. Then it would have you select a time slot. If the system stays the same as yesterday going forward, I think it would be an advantage not to have all your tickets linked to one party member as all of you could try to get a time slot for better odds.

But also, the system might work differently tomorrow so who knows

Can someone summarize what the system requires? Very confused.

I first at thought you need everybody's tickets linked, but it appears you don't need to as the app will ask how many in your party?

Oh well that’s one way to decrease the Concierge kiosk lines! Thanks for passing along the information!

Seems to be changing day to day. That’s the downside to try to prepare for your visit when they haven’t even figured out the final version for how this may work during guest previews.

Couldn’t this crowd people out and risk a large amount of no-shows, if true?

It does run the risk of a single party being able to get multiple return times for the whole party so I'm sure the procedure will change. I think they should use the extended queue outside the Floo network to hand out return time tickets through a physical line. That would be a more fair option in my opinion. First come, first serve.

But if the ride is closed, how do they stress test the Virtual Queue? I wonder if they didn't intentionally overdo it the first day just to see all of the second order effects.

To be blunt, they might just not have a plan. They might be crossing their fingers.

It’s not unprecedented. Front-line CMs at Rise weren’t told that Virtual Queue would be used until opening day itself. I think these things come down to the wire more often than we think.

EDIT: misunderstood this reply lol. I do think this is a damned if they do damned if they don’t scenario for paying guests.
