If this park gets a JAWS ride, it will be final proof that I really am being trolled by Universal at the highest levels.

Universal, if you're reading this: stop reading these forums! Bullying is not the answer!

I think it clearly looks like a Dreamworks theater from Hollywood on the Main Street

Probably is, but I'm holding out hope the show building behind if for a Jaws ride. If not, I'll also take a Great Movie Ride style attraction there off main street. Make it so, Universal!

Wonderful news (a rare thing, it feels, these days). Looking forward to following its development, over the next several years. :)

Onwards and upwards. Nice to see statements from the highest level in government and Comcast putting their combined weight behind this confirmation. 2031 seems a reasonable timeframe, although I was quietly hoping they could get it done by 2030.

Now, where’s the info about annual pass options…

No Potter, in the land of its creation, seems weird as.

Licensing with the WB UK Potter studio tour is why Potter is not at the UK park.

Is LOTR or Nintendo coming here? Maybe an expansion?

I'm going against the grain on one of the predicted lands.....I think that Jurassic World is Wicked....smaller round buildings are Munchkinland, large show building is Oz with dark ride...and green coaster is Defying Gravity Coaster.

Oh really? That's such a shame they couldn't work it out. Everyone not on these forums will be asking why there's no Potter, considering. Especially since the studio tour isn't at all like the theme park.

Makes sense. The Jurassic franchise keeps evolving and they probably don't want to get stuck with an iteration that fizzles out like the World trilogy did or if the upcoming remake does.

Looking at the concept art a bit more, a few thoughts trickle out:

  • Jurassic seems to be taking up the majority of the northern section of the park. Architecture matches what is present with the main big showbuilding (that seemingly matches with Beijing's JWA layout).
  • The Waterworld area feels too simplistic for me to think it is infact, Waterworld.
  • The area in-between Hollywood + Hill Valley is absolutely Paddington. Signage can be noticed in the artwork that seems to have while blurred, the likeness of Sir. Paddington Bear infront of what seems to be a suspended spinner (like what Beijing has in KFP and what Singapore has in Minion Land)

Can you point out the Paddington sign? I’m not seeing

Exciting news, looks to be two huge expansion pads factored in there?

Literal zero shot that that is wicked. The popularity levels arent in the same stratosphere when it come to jurassic and wicked. The coaster i could see being wicked, but it looks too close to the jp/jw show building. Its universals biggest home grown IP. Its getting a ton of space.

Taking all the media coverage in so far this morning it's a bigger announcement than I was expecting. Artwork, Michael Cavanagh in No.10 showing the Prime Minister the artwork, Keir Starmer visiting Bedford today, Lisa Nandy and other Ministers touring the TV and radio studios this morning. I thought it would be a bit lower key than that. Couple of things I conclude though: (1) Universal are not at all concerned about mixed PR messages around their new British park being announced at the same time as their huge Epic Universe opening push. And (2) everyone must be content that the next stage of the planning application process is a formality, with no danger of things going pear-shaped when the legal niceties have to be observed.

This was brilliant news to wake up to!

I'll just be setting up my savings account for my annual pass if anyone needs me...

And I totally understand we're not getting a New Berk, but if Universal could squeeze in a Toothless meet and greet somewhere in all of this, that would make me very happy...

I think Uni would like your savings account to stretch to an Epic visit as well!

I'd like it to as well, but Toothless in the UK I could visit monthly, whereas visiting Toothless in the US is probably considerably less frequent.

It's probably not likely, but a girl can dream...

I’ve had such a rough couple of years I really needed this news, my health is getting worse and I’m going to struggle visiting Orlando in the not distant future.

Thanks to everyone here who has posted and kept the hype up the last year plus, seeing the red notification of new posts on my daily check for updates always gets me excited.

Now 6 more years of them!!

What it notable in its absence is the detail of what the government has offered Universal.

Not that I could even put a number on what would / would not be a reasonable support package - and anything infrastructure related (roads, rail) is fair enough. But I'm curious what else is in that package.
