That's really interesting...kind of surprised they aren't testing longer hours over just shifting the opening time. Must still be a lot of work to do.

9 hours can be covered with a single wave of shifts. 11-12 hours of operation gets disproportionately expensive.

Did they really build a low capacity Potter ride? Or do they just assume it’s going
To be super popular ?

I went ahead and got express tickets which of course were more expensive than the theme park tickets alone. Since I’m only doing one day during the busy October weekend, it still seems worth it.

That's curious. The hours I am getting in the beginning of April are from 10am to 7pm

I think they're expecting it to be popular just like every other Potter attraction that didn't open with Express lol

There's some pretty wacky hours in the last week or two of previews, curious as to why. I wonder if the rides just need to test through a particular temperature cycle.

This is actually my ideal hours of operation. I could rope drop every day.

Seriously . I wish all parks opened a little later and stayed open later into the night.

They are HOPING (and behind the scenes saying) Ministry has an opening date for the previews. Whether or not it makes that and is anywhere near capacity may be a different story.

I kind of think if they’re still at half capacity for RVs that it would be a good way to test virtual queue in previews.

With Universal Orlando stating they do not want interviews or reviews being shared at this time, we are temporarily locking all Epic Universe review threads. We will unlock it once it becomes clear there are no restrictions.

I just find it odd that the other attractions appear to be low capacity by design. Is the Potter hype still as high as it was a decade ago ? I don’t personally think so, but maybe I’m naive.

How so? Mega coasters and big dark rides have large capacity.

I think Potter hype is at a different level in pop culture than it was then but the incredibly successful implementation of Harry Potter lands and attractions prior (FJ, Hagrid's, Gringotts) creates an incredible hype for the next iteration of this type of Potter theme park environment, especially when they continue to push the envelope of what's expected in attraction immersion and design.

I've read people saying they cried walking through the attraction line. I think this will still be extremely hyped.

the concern is that a wristband could be given to another guest, one who’s underage. i’m of the mind that americans are pretty hysterical about the prospect of someone under 21 drinking, but it’s prudent for Universal to actively avoid the fine that comes with improperly checking IDs.

Bars here have wristbands for those over 21. Its very difficult to remove them without damaging them so they feel comfy letting the 18-20 year olds to mix

I'll admit I did when I walked into Cestial Park for the first time == I was a bit overwhelmed. (Also a bit teary eyed at the dragon show. The Potter queue just put me into shock :D )

I was referring to the other rides that don’t have express. The dragon training is obvious , and I’m guessing mine cart has a low capacity as well due to its size vs number
Of vehicles on the track at once.

I wonder if stardust racers will have super low waits due to it being dueling. I remember dueling dragons often being walk on or less than 15 mins waits

Mine Cart is 4 people per cart. I think estimates said like 1000 riders an hour, but its probably even less than that. Its had some of the longer lines during limited capacity previews, so i can only imagine if you added express to it you'd be looking at insane wait times.

Right , that’s what I meant . Size of the car.

So assuming MoM is decent or similar capacity to say Mario kart or Monsters , the only reason express is not offered is due to its assumed popularity ? … or are they also thinking it will be unreliable?

To be honest I’m surprised Hagrids is still standby only .

I'd imagine they are just going the Hagrid's route. This will be an extremely popular attraction with long wait times, so they just don't want to offer express on it for a while.

All about dispatch intervals.

As of now, I believe they've been able to get close to 11-12 seconds.
