If Bluey was coming to WDW, I'd rather Animal Kingdom finally get some Australian animals on display

Taking a few stops back, but I think Marvel is definitely plausible now that Six Flags has dropped the bombshell DC theme park rights aren't with them for Florida.

I don't think any Universal insider worth their salt has said MSHI is on its way out though... But the fact people on Magic in the know about AC have said an IP is picked out and haven't said it has me thinking it could genuinely be Marvel.

There's like, a trillion things Uni should do before they even breathe near MSHI though. Unless Disney came to them promising to fund the replacement and then some extra money, I don't think there is a world Universal gives it up.

Any scenario resulting in MSHI leaving would be unfathomably bad.

Not necessarily. For that to happen money will have to change hands or some equally valuable property. Removing/retheming MSI would EASILY pay for itself.

From purely a monetary standpoint? Maybe. But I'm pretty sure belloq was mainly referring to the loss of Spiderman. There's no way to just slap a retheme on what is still, after all of these years, one of the best rides in existence.

I think the UC team is up to the challenge.

Correct. The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is a perfect marriage of IP and ride type.

I'm sure Creative thought they were up to the challenge with Transformers, too.

It's an inferior attraction in every way (particularly structure and pacing).

Do you have a link? Not that I don't believe you, just a law nerd who's into things like IP rights.

I believe that has always been the case. Either way this DHS thread has been high jacked with theoretical talk of Marvel and DC, which is all theory and no substance at this time.

Yeah, after thinking on it overnight, it doesn't line up from the Universal side of things in regards to them losing Marvel. There's nothing from anyone credible that even remotely points to MSHI going anytime soon, nor would it be in the best interest of Universal to prioritize a MSHI replacement.

While it's a fun theory to speculate on, this isn't the place for it, and it's best to move on from it at this point in time unless trustworthy people on either here or Magic start pointing towards a scenario like this.

When it comes to AC, the only things of substance at this point in this is, according to insiders with a solid track record on Magic:

•Disney apparently has plans to announce what's going into Animation Courtyard the weeks surrounding the opening of EU
•It's apparently not Simpsons or Zootopia.

Apologies for jumping the gun on the DC assumptions, I had a rough night last night and thought I put a puzzle together.

I don't think it would be based on an upcoming Disney property that hasn't been released yet. I'm wondering if it will be more of a catch all type area than one based on a single IP. I always pondered over the prospects of a Disney Animation area .

I wonder if too, since we’re getting a Villains land, who’s to say we don’t get a Hero’s land? Can include Marvel or not.

I think what happened with this whole chatter regarding Animation Courtyard was this: Len Testa said he's only seen vague concepts drawn up for it. It sounds like Disney is considering addressing the area, but it's in very early development. If the AC concepts in consideration are very vague, there's no way it will get an announcement at DD23 or D23 2026 let alone the week of EU debuting.

It does seem like there will be a refresh in the near future once Mermaid comes back with Bluey taking over Launch bay and the DJL show. And I think the two got conflated together leading to confusion. Any actual new land for AC likely won't be finalized until D23 2028.

As for the IP they go with, Maybe the 2026 WDAS film could be considered if it does well at the box office. Or incredibles, but I hope they go with something other than another Pixar land. Incredibles can work in a new TL for MK.

He specifically mentioned there would be an announcement the week of Epic's opening regarding AC. With this opening May 27th, there would be a media event the same week as Epic's opening, perfect for an announcement.

Some food for though: If Disney is going to announce an animation courtyard replacement either during the week of EU debuting it's going to be for an existing IP and not something up and coming. If Zootopia has already been ruled out, in my mind the IP for AC will be Moana. The first movie is among the most watched things on D+ and the sequel regardless of what people though still made a boatload (pun intended) of money.

It could explain why the ride for MK was pulled at the last minute. Priorities were shifted to make it a full land and not an expansion to AL. It would also present the opportunity to bring the Shanghai pirates ride system to WDW and give DHS its much needed water/boat ride.
